I spoke with a friend who does training & rescue. She recommended you try contacting old dog haven (rescue). maybe they can use them! good luck

I'm glad to hear some vets will, but mine wont. :( Even though I've been a client for 20+ years.... it's not a trust concern with them regarding me...when Biscuit had his cancer surgery their policy was 50% payment before surgery, and I had a little less than 25%. They did it with no hesitation and we made payments for nearly a year afterwards till it was paid in full. They just don't accept any meds back, and really, I cant blame them. I'd be very leery of accepting them myself. They recommended I call the local Humane Society office, but they weren't interested either... a few are being taken by a longtime friend who works with a dog rescue group in PA, but I still have 8-10 different prescriptions... oh well, I tried

True, our vet will take back meds they dispensed from people they know and trust to use for customers that are struggling to provide them-- those customers are notified they may recieve these types of meds.

Have you checked with Biscuit's vet? When we lost our beloved dog, Teddy, a few years ago, the vets office reached out to us re his unused meds that they'd dispensed. They had a connection with a low income vet who welcomed the meds. We happily brought them back, at least some puppy could benefit was our thought....just like you're doing.

So true :( I cant blame them, I would be *very* hesitant, myself. I offered them up on FB also, and a couple were spoken for, from long-term friends. Many remain...I just hate dumping literally hundreds of $ and pills if someone could use them

Ah, I suppose that makes sense. Too bad there is such a need to be suspicious these days.

I tried, thanks... great idea, but they refused, due to very justified safety concerns about tampering.

Anyone interested in free dog medicine? I have many prescriptions left over from when Biscuit passed away. They cannot be returned. They are all recent, many don't expire for close to a year or 2. They include breathing meds, control cough, help with dementia, thyroid, anti-anxiety, pain pills, etc.... please message me if interested. Thanks
