I love all kinds of deep mysterious burgundy and Cordovan footwear. These look to be that kind of rich, "nearly neutral" color.<br />It does depend on what you'll be wearing. I wear lots of black, gray, black and gray, etc, pants with gray, black, burgundy or "marsala" color tops, and so the red is great and a great change from black footwear, but still very bookendish. Also work with navy. The socks I usually wear with booties, which are low-cut enough that they stop just over the ankle bone, stick out with these. But I'd be wearing them mostly with skirts and dresses, so this wouldn't be as big a deal if you want them mostly with pants that would cover the shaft. The low shaft would also make them hard to tuck skinnies into, if that's something you'd want to do with these.</p> <p>The wine is a really pretty deep color that would work as a neutral, and is a great shade for brunettes. The wine is a dark burgundy, not at all a flashy red. After reading this, I think I'll keep the wine. I see Angie's point, the wine is a little different and a gorgeous color. It's still somewhat neutral so would go with so many colors.
