Patty, "bias-cut" means that the fabric is cut on the diagonal, so that the garment is very drapey. The sundress I mentioned is a rayon-poly blend, I think, and not exactly tight, but inclined to hug the curves!

I frequently wear Yummie Tummy tanks or Flexees' tank equivalent (the kind with a shaping panel in the middle) in the winter. I have to tuck them in or they ride up.

I have purchased many other shapewear items but don't wear them (bike shorts, shaping panties, shaping corsets, shaping thongs). I find that the tanks and a good pair of shaping pantyhose are enough. I have just one dress that requires the bombshell undergarments (push up bra and waist nipper).

I tend to forgo shapewear in the summer due to heat.

I miss that show How to look good naked....only saw it a few times! Usually I only wear that stuff or formal occasions. However after I had my very large 10lb 2oz son, I wore a control pant (I think from Hanes) for like 7 months. Even when it was HOT outside! Now I don't wear them often. But I heard the yummy tummy was good....now based on your reviews, not so sure.

I generally feel restricted in such under garments for day to day.

Mo--I hear they can ride up/roll down---a lady I know only found out in the wedding pics that her tummy support panties had headed south and created an extra roll were there shouldn't have been---funny and sad at the same time--she looked beautiful in her Mother of the groom dress!!.

I have one pair of the Spanx bike-short things (not the ones that go especially high). I wear them only when I feel I must: with one very form-fitting cocktail dress (worn once or twice a year) and sometimes with a bias-cut sundress. They are hot in warm weather, though, and honestly, I feel like a poseur wearing them during the day. For special occasions, they are not much different than a pair of firm control-top hosiery, so they are somehow more acceptable to me in a dressy context.

I pretty much only wear them with special occasion outfits, and try to avoid them at those points as well, if it all possible. However, I do have tights that are Spanx brand, and they have quite a strong control top. I wear those as my regular tights, so I guess I'm wearing shapewear whenever I wear tights.

How can a show called "How to Look Good Naked" advocate shapewear?

I wear bras and undies but never wear shapewear or "enhancing" garments. I could understand it during formal occasions but definitely not for everyday life.

Interestingly, I recently saw a picture of Christina Hendricks in her everyday life (not on the RC) and her body looked completely different. She did not have the teeny tiny waist she normally does, her chest was at a normal level (not pumped up to her chin), and she looked a lot more relaxed. She must be wearing some insane shapewear and corsetry under all of those RC dresses and costumes but I preferred how she really looks over her "enhanced" self.

I have two of these types of tanks - one is a true Yummy Tummy brand the other a no name. They ride up on me. Could be because I am short/high waisted. But I'm always tugging if I wear them unless I tuck them into a pant or legging as an underlayer only. I bought a control slip once that was anything but and never wear it. And I have the L'eggs control shaper that looks like pantyhose cut off into bike shorts. Wore that twice I think, to weddings. Shapewear just doesn't work for me, I guess.

Underwear trifecta for the week!!!---Bras, undies now Spanx like shape shifters!

Do you wear any?
When?
How bout in warm weather seasons?
Do you prefer the tall pants or the long tank for your muffin top needs?

I have the muffin top thing--seems I have a tight-ish tummy but about a 3 inch pinch that needs hefting and smoothing and de-jiggling sometimes <---birthing badges of honor indeed LoL!!
I wonder about wearing these things-- are they special occasion/outfit things. Do you rely on them at all for your silhouette??
I understand from reading the What Not To Wear site that most contestants leave with an arm load. And the How to Look Good Naked show sure make no bones about them and pass them out freely.
