The pockets lie flat and I don't plan on putting my hands in them very often, just so I maintain the shape of the dress, but they could probably be sewn shut and removed if you wanted to remove ANY extra bulk there. I do that with all my pants now. I bought it in a medium so it doesn't cling to me too much.It is a deep V-neck so unless you want to show some mucho cleavage you will need a camisole underneath .trying it in again made me love it even more :-)<br /> I think it works great without any extra belt since it has a belted waist built in, and will be fun with flats or boots and tights when it cools down. I am not a very curvy person in terms of bust but I have hips and about a 10-12 inch difference between by waist and hip. Being a slender hourglass, many sweater dresses look terrible on me, very boxy or somewhat obscene.<br /> But this past week I hit the jackpot--for all those near a BCBG store, go there now!</p> <p> I found a navy, merino wool, sweater dress that is shaped(shaped!) like an hourglass but has enough give not to be clingy.It can accommodate a decent size chest I think, so bustier women can rock this out too.
