Thank you, Sterling. Pants are hard!

Angie, thanks for comments-/ that length is what I will be going for. I couldn’t pin it right for a photo because of the layers of fabric of the existing cuff.

I’d also be interested in any styling tips that sort of “ elevate” them. Not heels! For everyday workwear, that is. ( I CAN wear block- heeled pumps with these for a “ smart- dressy outfit, such as with a dressier fabric top or jacket or accessories, so that is part of the hoped- for versatility.)

My thinking for general proportions , if I’m on the right track, includes more fitted top half to balance the hip fullness, and my shorter jackets or a boxy but short topper. But if there are any “ trend” moves that I could work in, I could try!

I think you need more length than #2 but not as much as #1. Nice fit.

Just wanted to drop by to say, those pants look fabulous on you!! I think hemming them so that they rest no the foot makes perfect sense. Good work.

Thank you, smittue and Isabel.
I would like to hem them so they rest on the foot but don’t really break. Not scrunched, for these. The pants cut is maybe a bit “ retro” , being fuller on the thigh and tapering, and in this woven wool I think the legline is better if they fall smoothly.

They look good! I wouldn't go too long because the cuff will weigh them down a little and they might look draggy if they're longer.

This style looks a little fresher and more feminine to me if they're not too long. I can't tell if there's a break in the front or not?

I rather like the length you chose in 2-5 but I’m not the expert.
The outfit with the blazer and loafers looks good!
I also like the urgency top and would pair it with your new red loafers.
You look very tidy and professional!

Well, ONE pair, that is! I run a kind of pleated capsule according to what I am finding.
These are Lafayette 148 from SaksOff5th. I cannot find them for Find because I think they have sold out and I am not seeing what is for sure the same item there anymore.
This is one type of pant silhouette--it is tapered, so, not the trending wide leg. I have some wide-legs for now. These are tropical wool.
I show them as-is, too long--they are cuffed. Then with the hem turned under. I can't show the exact length I want because it's less than a full cuff turn. I plan to hem them full-length with a cuff, to rest on top of foot. to wear with lower-vamped flats. I need full-length trousers so there will be other options out there for cropped . If I hem them this way, they are 3-4 season pants because I can wear them with nude knee-highs or selectively with socks and loafer pairings in winter, or with tights.as an underlayer for warmth. Typically black socks +black flats to be "inconspicuous" but could try fun socks. So these could be in rotation for ~ 8 months of year:( in super-hot weather I have other options and in coldest winter also.)
These have a full set-in waistband and belt-loops--a HEWI. They are NOT "high waist " on me, are below my natural waist, but still. When I want to maximize the legline I will wear a black belt, but will want to play with other belts for fun.
2-5 are with hem turned up, but shorter than planned. Last pic is with a short-ish AT jacket and pewter loafers to show a S/S "outfit".
These are almost more tapered than I need, for my shape but it does work well with footwear. Also when they are hemmed it will reduce the taper a little bit. It's really hard to do wider legs full-length except with a kind of boot or bootie (which is how I wear my current pinstriped navy wide legs) so that affects seasonal wear; have to have the right footwear and not be seasonally confused. So instead of an "ankle wide leg", I might be on lookout for something that is essentially a culotte if I found the right item.
What do you think? These are just quick picks.
