I just examined mine more closely and there are 2 stitches on each side of the knot, and then the knot is glued down, it looks like a thin glue, like super glue rather than something like hot glue. The stitches would be easy enough to snip off. You *might* be able to pull the knot off with little residue left on the shoe (I could peel it back easily enough to see the type of glue used). To me, it looks like the houndstooth pair are made of a tweedy fabric that might not show the glue remnants as readily as say, a patent would or treated metallic would. I actually even think I might be able to get the 6's to fit as well. By what I can't attribute to anything but the grace of God, I found some shoe stretchers on ebay that are specifically meant to just stretch the front end of the shoe. I also got some shoe stretching fluid which relaxes the leather so it will stretch more. As soon as the stretchers arrive I'm hoping I can stretch out the toe and have 2 pairs that fit. </p> <p>The Olyvia is really pretty. I wish I could wear that toe shape. I think Dillard's also carries the Oasis (also by Me Too) which I tried on in a 6 but it was way too tight in the toe area. Might double up on the same original black pair. They have been absolute winners for everyone so far…even Maya, now that she’s re-arranged her heel insert. The only drawbacks have been the look. It’s a smarter looking shoe and some of my clients are more casual, or don’t like bows. Not the perfect SAHM shoe for the Seattle Mum. No problem in Europe, but in Seattle it’s a little more laid back. Arch supports work and so do insoles. This has been especially effective when clients were in-between sizes. Wider and narrow feet seem to equally like this shoe. </p> <p>Ana, Tanya has it spot on with respect to snake skin working as a neutral. Stick to plain tops (which I know you prefer) in all colours and you’ll make them work. Keep the bottoms neutral. You can make prints work with an animal print but that’s complicated and hard to explain. Go get those shoes and wear them with your coral tops!
