I'm so glad you had a good experience, TG! I'm getting my colours done locally here tomorrow. I do agree, though, that much of it is already intuitive. It's nice to have it "on paper" so to speak

For those interested, if you decide to try it, please let me know what you think or pm me if you want more info (although I think I shared the bulk of it!). You could definitely do the virtual one from anywhere in the world as long as you could coordinate time zones for the Skype bit I guess, or I think her in-person rate was about $190 which I think is actually pretty good compared to others. She even had a simple analysis for $20, but this one does not include the "personal touch". But might be worth a go for those really unsure - that's what I started with and then upgraded.
StyleFan, she does use a different methodology from Sci/Art, and yes, I have noticed their prices are pretty "up there". I guess it depends on how important the methodology is to you - I can see definitely why Sci/Art is appealing. If you want to chat more about how she walked through it, we can chat on pm if that would help.
Elizabeth, I find the colors MUCH more appealing than the DYT colors, but where there is cross-over are some of my best, e.g. deep purple, deep blue, ink, etc. I was so relieved when she said Dark Winter actually - I think I got so confused when someone told me I was a Summer and it really challenged my thinking, which was cool. I can see what they were thinking; however, at the end of the day, the dusty and light colors tend to wash me out, so I only ever felt right with a few of the summer colors. Funny enough, before I started really analyzing color, I wore a lot of deep colors, e.g. deep green, blue, plum, purple, burgundy, etc. Just shows your instincts are worth listening to!
Glad is was worth the share

How clever, would love to try this someday as I'm always trying to determine "what" I am...just seems
Like it would be well worth the $$ to head in the right direction color wise and make your closet cohesive. Thanks for the recommendation!

Cool! For that price it's hard to go wrong!

How does it compare to DYT? Did you get more out of it? Confirm things that didn't quite mesh? Trust it more? Less? Etc etc... Feel free to pm me if you don't want to get into that stuff in depth publicly :).

Thank you! I am booked with someone who is trained in Sci/Art on May 31. She is coming to Toronto. It is a 3 hour consult and pretty expensive. It involves a hotel stay for me. Now you have me thinking I might change this.

I can go to Toronto and see this woman in person very easily.

I there, sorry to post an "ad" and then run - I've been struggling to find time at the computer lately! But I wanted to share a great experience with a color analyst I just had, as I know there are many interested in color analysis.

Her name is Carol Brailey and she is based in Toronto, but also has an online service, which is what I used since I find it tricky to get into the city. Her website is here: http://carolbrailey.com/ and she also blogs on the Huffington Post. I found her by way of a Reddit post - totally random, but since she was so reasonable and had such a good review, I thought I'd give her a shot.

She analyzed me as a Dark Winter, which is so different from what I've heard from other analysts, but it really made so much sense to me. She walked me through her analysis step by step by way of a Skype call so I feel like I really understand the logic and (hopefully!) will not question myself as much on color. She also advised me on how to manage my hair color now that it is starting to gray, which was really good, and recommended a few colors she thought would be most flattering. She was super-warm and friendly, and very professional. She is also based in Yorkville, which has a reputation for being quite high-end and stylish, which is sort of a superficial way of evaluating someone, but it did give me confidence.

The cost of the analysis via photos plus 1/2 hour on Skype was I think $65 Canadian and worth every penny. The instructions on what she needed from the photos was really clear and she also says that if she gets the photos and feels she cannot give you a good analysis, she will refund you (I think - double-check this if you are worried). She did not hard-sell me on additional items such as swatch books. Anyways, who better to share this with then you Fabbers ... if anyone chooses to use her services, I hope you have as good an experience as I did!

I am in no way affiliated with her but just wanted to pump up another Toronto girl that did a great job
