JODI- first of all welcome! And what a great occasion for a family picture. Congratulations to the graduate.
I second JESSIKAM’s tip but would add try not to have your body face camera straight on- turn body at an angle.
Agree with GREY-prints sometimes don’t photo well.
I would think a lighter color dress would be fine ( light or medium blue for example - but not limited to blue- what is a great color on you normally?)
Since she is being honored and is wearing long, I think short for Mom and Sis would let the graduate stand out as honoree. FYI- depending on lighting at venue her dress may read as black in picture. So assuming Dad is wearing a dark suit you may not want the whole family dressed dark.
It is a happy occasion after all;-)
Most of all have fun! With them growing up fast these memories will be great to have as they move on with their plans.

I learned a good photo tip: pretend you are looking at someone you really love. Like, when you look at the camera, pretend your best friend is standing there. The photos can capture a look of welcome or delight— so nice!

How fun and what a great way to memorialize the event!

I suggest that everyone wear coordinating solid color garments in a similar level of dressiness. Prints don’t always photograph well and can distract from the faces in photos. If your DD is a navy long dress, maybe you and other DD could wear a dark colored dresses, not neccessarily long, and husband could wear dark suit.

Most importantly, remember to relax and have fun. Genuine smiles always make for beautiful photos no matter what you are wearing.

Hi all,
Just signed up to youlookfab and looking for suggestions please. My daughter is graduating high school this year and her formal is coming up soon. She has chosen a slim fitting navy blue dress to wear. We are having family photos taken at the event and I am not sure how to co-ordinate with her. The family includes me, my husband and her younger sister (13). I have realised I'm terrible at this sort of thing. Pls help Open to any colours and styles TIA
