They were very stiff but have loosened up. I'm hoping the back edge of the heels continues to soften. </p> <p>The heel-right where my blisters from others shoes were-is most challenging. I'm used to 2" heels, not flats. When I wear ballet flats or loafers with a stiffer back, the top edge of the heel rubs my skin in a spot that's terribly sensitive and prone to blisters. I have been trying to find a real pair of forest green pumps, but they were elusive (at least, in a style I liked.) These Clarks pointy toe flats came across my radar and it looked like they would fit the bill. I'd actually have preferred they have a 1.5-2" heel as that's more comfortable for me, but I'm giving these a whirl. I love them visually-i like the streamlined studs-but they must pass the comfort challenge (hoping they won't rub against my heel, which is a problem with many flats.)</p> <p>The rest of the outfit are separates from Universal Standard-a capelet and skirt, both in thin knits but well made. I've been wearing them since Christmas, sometimes with a long sleeved teal top under the capelet, sometimes like this. I also have the Meridian pullover sweatshirt in this color that I pair with the skirt. Inevitably I get "nice dress!" comments. Faux dresses are very fun. </p>
