The main trick is to cover in band-aids every potential trouble spot after the first wear- when you know where the rubbing is occurring. I am still nowhere near my usual form, but it takes time. But now the time has come for what I fear the most : breaking in new dance shoes! My new shoes have just arrived - the old ones were basically dead. Dance shoes have to fit very differently from regular ones - they must be super-tight, so that the foot can not move even a tiniest bit inside them.. As a a result, the first few weeks of wearing are extremely painful, with a lot of blisters till the satin molds to your foot.
