They don't squeak... I have been wearing them without socks and for any occasion--work and play! They seem to suddenly fill a void in my wardrobe that I didn't know was there. One problem though, my feet sweat in them when its hot out. I have had success in treating a squeaky shoe -- and this might sound weird -- by rubbing a little bit of lotion/moisturizer on it. I read that somewhere and it helped the last pair of squeaky shoes I had. I suppose it depends on what exactly is causing the squeak, but I guess it might be worth a try! I had one pair of shoes that squeaked because of a little pocket of air trapped underneath the insole.
