I'm not a Kors girl at all. I own that tunic because it makes a nice basic, and nice basics are all I would ever get from MK (I got it on sale because at $59, it was too much for me full price for a plain shirt). Even at his coolest and edgiest, I find him rather ordinary. Did you see his resortwear collection? It was bad. I can see why he was biased in Gretchen's favor, but as a judge he should check his personal style at the door. He is so arrogant. I used to like him a lot as a judge. I thought his quips were hilarious and his insight sharp, but he is unbearable this season. Nina too. Why couldn't they just admit they just liked Gretchen more instead of using all those BS excuses to justify their lamer than lame decisions? I thought Heidi would pull the strings since she is executive producer, but apparently Nina and Michael's catty, overbearing, nasty remarks won out. </p> <p>I hope they both get canned after this. I would love to see two very different designers--Betsey Johnson and Naeem Khan (who was a great guest judge this season) as judges. That way we could be somewhat assured of an even opinion. Nina's decision was made because Gretchen is more to her personal taste, and because she didn't want to have two editorials in a row that she viewed as too similar (Seth Aaron and Mondo). </p> <p>On that note, Seth Aaron is an amazing designer and I was pulling for him last season, but he is so different from Mondo! What was she talking about? All they have in common is black and white + color. Even the colors are different. SA used a lot of primaries while Mondo tends to go for bright spring colors. Seth had a hard edge, a rocker vibe, and a lot of unusual and OTT silhouettes, and sharp tailoring (could he ever make a jacket or what?). If anyone had a circusy aesthetic, it's Seth. Mondo, by contrast, was actually very simple and classic in terms of silhouettes (a knit top and pencil skirt, tunic and leggings--nothing earth shattering here). Where he really brings it is in his prints and colors. Again, more BS excuses.</p> <p>I'm ok with disagreeing with the judges. It has happened before. But in this case they were so obviously insincere and biased that it became unwatchable. Not just insincere and biased, but unapologetically narcissistic ("We told him we didn't like that dress, but Gretchen listened to us!").
