Oh, and one more thing -- a couple of these pieces come in a "dress" version. Sometimes with a different neckline. And often the dresses are a mere 36 inches long. So you could alter them as tunics!

Yes, I feared none of these would be perfect, but it's a question of not letting them out of your sights if you are in the market for a top especially, or a jacket (later). They always do elegant and slightly unusual black pieces and often greys also, though not always. It was fun to shop for black for a change!

Suz - thank you so very much!!! Yes I am crushing on all the long line jackets. Although I must resist FOMO. I am on black jacket restriction unless it is unique. I just bought the Everlane oversized blazer in black specifically to split wears with the Theory selata. All the tops you picked are very close. The rodvak color is too taupe for my coloring. I can see that looking wonderful on you - but I do best in really clear clean colors. I was looking seriously at the jaapa top last night. The color is perfect but is it just too much pattern. This is where aspirational style needs to be filtered. But I'm thinking on it. I love the Helek but I don't wear button downs. I do adore covered buttons and I like the pattern a lot but collars are fussy under blazers and I run cold so any top that can't be worn easily with a blazer won't be worn. I used to wear button downs in silk buttoned to the collar so it's an option but I'm not sure I'd actually wear it. Alterationsneeded wears this a lot and I love it, but I think it's "her" and not the current "me." I have been looking for a tux blouse so I am eyeing the bernee as well esp with the bib, although no one would ever see the sheer sleeves!! Choices, choices. The briton top is very pretty, I just wish it were more black than blue. But you know exactly what I like!! Thank you so much for all the suggestions, it was incredibly nice of you to shop for me!! It's so appreciated and I will cogitate on the above!!!!

A few CM options that I saw. None of these might be right but I think you'll get an idea of why I think you might eventually find something worth having. Sizing varies depending on the cut. They tend to cut for a smaller, narrow frame but their "relaxed" cuts really *are* relaxed. I sometimes size up and sometimes don't in their tops and dresses -- it all depends. As you know I have a narrow frame, but not as narrow/small as Angie's. My shoulders are square and quite wide for my height/size, without being at all broad. (Like coat hangers, sort of, ha ha). And of course I have a small bust.

The cut of the Jaapa is awfully similar to the Briton blouse I am wearing in my second outfit photo today. It works both tucked and untucked and also semi-tucked. The high-low hem makes it quite easy to wear.

I really like the Bernee with the sheer sleeve. If it were navy it would be mine! :)

ETA: Longline jackets!!
