I think you should definitely give it a try; I've seen it look so good on so many different body types. The skirt does run big and it does run fairly long. I first tried it on in a regular size and I think it came to the middle or bottom of my knee. I decided that I would most likely be wearing this skirt in the cooler weather with boots and tights, so I ended up buying it in petite for a shorter look. I'm 5'6" and the petite is not all that short on me.
