Hi Lisamartin, sorry for the very late reply! (book nuts are my favourite people, by the way;-)

Perhaps I'm weird but I honestly don't know. There are many great books out there, but I don't really have a 'best book ever'. For me it has always been about certain passages, if something particular grabs me*, I tend to call that a good book, although as a whole it might not be considered the best book ever written, do you know what I mean?

* Usually that happens when compassion and wonderment and beauty are involved. I can be so deeply impressed by a sentence or a paragraph that it stays with me for days, sometimes even longer.
E.g. I'm still touched very much by this passage in The History of Love by Nicole Krauss: http://plankjeongeregeld.typep.....n-eig.html
(for me there's a tender respect in there without being sappy - not always easy to pull off!)

And there's a relatively 'new' Belgian writer, Dimitri Verhulst, who's an absolute master at this. He usually tells 'small' stories in such exquisite simple language, and he gets me every time...
If his latest novel 'Mevrouw Verona daalt de heuvel af' (Mrs. Verona comes down the hill) ever gets translated into English, then I would highly recommend it. (I'm keeping my thumbs crossed that the translator will be able to conserve his use of language; he's known to use somewhat archaic and inherently Flemish words in his work; but with him it's never far-fetched and always so right for his characters and story - but it will be very difficult to transpose this into another language).

By the way: 'The Master and Margarita' is one of the many books on my 'still to read pile' (which is ever-growing, but I don't mind that one bit).

Hi Lisa!

I think you could definitely purchase an AF on ebay, but I might wait until you are more familiar with the brand and what size you take and how you feel about it before you make an ebay purchase. I usually try to do that myself, and I end up with fewer things that don't work/fit.

Actually, I did get my Chloé blouse at Neiman Marcus. Thank you Lisa! I wore it again today and felt super chic.

You are right- I will save and get a "real"one- Thanks for the sizing tip- I think you and I are pretty close.
Where did you get your signature Chloe blouse? I have only seen Chloe at NM and that was in Houston- nothing like that in Ohio. It is amazing on you!

Anne Fontaine uses French sizing, and I would say they run pretty true to size. I am an 8 in US sizing, and my AF blouses are both 40. If you look through the catalog and call the AF nearest you, they might be able to help you out, or at least tell you who can. I think they do ship some things. Right now, the Spring/Summer catalog is still up on the website, but a lot of those pieces are on sale. I visited the store a couple of weeks ago, and they are slowly getting their Fall/Winter line in now. They have this amazing "Dress" thing that zips all together and then zips apart and then zips together into different configurations--for instance it will zip apart, and you can reconfigure it into a skirt and a jacket, or a sleeveless shirt, vest, etc. It's insane! Very avante garde. It just wouldn't fit into my lifestyle, but they have a crinkled version that looks like black crinkly leather that would be my pick if I could. I hope they have it up on the website soon, I'll post it here right away.

I don't think you'd be sorry if you saved up for a bit and got an AF blouse, they are really fab pieces, and usually very versatile.

By the way, you are a book lady ( husband calls me a book nut-it's my other obsession) What do you think is the best book you have ever read? Mine was Crime and Punishment till I read The Master and Margarita by Bulgakov.

Hello Ladies! I can't find that chunky pearl AT necklace online- is it only available in the store?
Also- I want an AT blouse SOMCU! There is no store around here, and they seem to be way out of my price range, but there are some nice ones on EBay. I have stopped buying on Ebay since I came to the forum, because I plan out my purchases and I'm much pickier now. I would like to make an exception, but I can't figure out the sizes. Iwear a 6 , I'm a 34c. Any ideas? I think about those blouses all the time.
This NAS has been a Big event for me- and I love reading about all the ladies getting together to shop - it makes me feel like I am there too!
Thanks!
P.S.- I got a hat, a beautiful pashmina, and a great belt

Thank you Ana and Plumeria. This forum is for you lovely lot. Little point in me crowding the place with pics of my outfits!

I hear you Ana. You’re looking for a biker jacket that’s a lot more streamlined. (Don’t mind the price. It’s for illustrative purposes only)

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/29.....rchresults

As for pearls – you are right. Most fakes look awful. But the AT chunkies are suburb. The best I’ve seen. I picked up a long chunky strand at BCBG a few weeks ago and they’re also amongst the best fakes I’ve ever seen.

That outfit sounds amazing! I would wear it in an instant.

I need to experiment to find the right biker jacket. When I tried the Kenna-T jacket on, I felt like it looked very tough and unfriendly (I don't know how to describe it). When Patience tried it on, it looked so good on her, and was softer somehow, she didn't look the same way at all (isn't it amazing how that works?). Anyway, I would like to find a good motorcycle jacket, because I really like the overall look. I think it would look really good with my white flowy dress (among other things).

I do like pearls a lot, but I'm still figuring out how to wear them. I just have that one strand that are like June Cleaver pearls, and I wore those in the regular way. Since coming here I know that it's not very edgy or interesting, so I'm keeping an eye out for some good pieces. If that DY ring wasn't so incredibly expensive, I'd snap it up, I really like it too. My problem is finding costume pearls that don't look really "fake" to me, I have to work on that. Also, it's sometimes hard for me to tell if a pearl piece (faux or not) is edgy and interesting, or if it's just sort of boring and traditional. Patience was wearing the AT chunky pearl necklace at the sale, and it looked really nice on her, so I think I will pick one of those up, too.

Thank you Ana! How touching to be thought of. I have a David Yurman pearl piece that I love, but it’s not as nice as this one. I also have a pearl ring that’s quite similar to the pendant in shape, just more asymmetrical and with silver instead of gold. It was a 10th wedding anniversary prezzie from Greg. Do you like pearls?

And the AF blouses are INCREDIBLE. They can both go straight into my wardrobe. (I actually own virtually the same belts!) You have my style down girl. Must be “our-blousy-overlap-taste-thing ” again :-)

Now imagine one of these blouses with black skinnies, the belt, the red Stuart W. boots I’m still testing, biker jacket, a pearl accessory, Cruella deVille specs and a cobalt blue handbag. What do you think?

Angie, I saw this ring in the window a few weeks ago, but couldn't find a photo it to post online to show you. Since I had my camera today for lipsticks, I took a picture myself. They no longer have the ring in the window, but they have the pendant. The pendant and the ring are exactly the same (the size and everything, which I'd say is about an inch or so). I think I looked up the price once and it was pretty expensive, but I just had to show you because I thought of you instantly:

http://i66.photobucket.com/alb.....0514-1.jpg
