I find that the medicated OTC foot cream with urea in it really helps with softening tough heel skin.

You should give him a pedi yourself at home. Make it a big romantic gesture, and then he'll go for it

My husband has this problem and especially after his heart surgery. I finally talked him into pedicures. It has helped tremendously. Nothing else helped as much.

If he's not keen on a pedicure get him to see a chiropodist/ podiatrist it might be a bit more 'manly' than a pedicure i'd never get my other half for one but he has no problem seeing my chiropodist x

Agrace he's not a runner. FWIW it's worth I tend to get dry/blistery skin on my toes that I am sure is from running. But it is very minor.

Thanks for the suggestions Angie! I knew you would have a solution!

Does your fiance run by any chance (for exercise)? From my personal experience, no matter what I do I have the same problem and it is from running, or so I've been told. I also like aquaphor, in addition to what Angie suggested. I use a pumice but I refuse to have my feet 'shaved' (is that what it's called?) in a salon when they offer it during a pedicure - first, because I don't fancy a razor anywhere near the soles of my feet and second because I've learned the hard way that if you are a regular runner you need some of that skin toughened a little bit for any distance running.

Your sweetie should absolutely go have a pedicure. Try and persuade him!

Or, get a foot file online and help him file his feet. Glass foot files are best. Then rub Vicks on at night, wrap those cute feet up in socks and bobs your uncle. Happy feet.

I only ask this because of Angie's morning blog post.

My fiance has a chunk of dry, dead skin on his heels. He says it doesn't hurt but it is uncomfortable. I gave him a pumice stone (sp) to use and told him to buy some serious dry skin lotion. Does any have any other "man-friendly" suggestions? I find pedicures to be helpful for this but I doubt he'll go for that.
