All the Salades Nicoises last week made me want my own! I wish I had had some olives for it though.

Yum, everything looks and sounds so good!
Again, I don't typically take food pictures but the heirloom beans in this salad were a gift from friends. I took picture to show them what I made - cranberry beans, radicchio, pecans, dates and blue cheese with a balsamic vinaigrette. Not the prettiest salad, but it tasted good!

Continuing the peach theme, we picked 20 lbs of peaches at a friends' orchard and made cobbler, boozy peaches in bourbon, jam, salsa, and peach pit and peel jelly. The colors of the jam and jelly are so pretty!

Our peaches are ripe about now. I've been eating them off the tree, and we've had them with our morning steel cut oats. I was hoping #1 was the start of a salad, or something.

My favorite summer dish right now is a chop salad - carrot, celery, green onion, broccoli, purple cabbage, and raw corn cut off the cob. Mayo and vinegar dressing. It's very refreshing.

Fruit flies are a big problem here this year. I read how they don't like basil, so picked some of the older and woodier basil stalks. If I crush or tear the leaves daily, this really works! Still, the peaches #1 need to be consumed soon after coming into the house!

Misc. food snapshots from the week: #2 prep. picture for Cabernet chicken (chives, ginger, garlic, and a mixture of Cabernet, Dijon, blackberry jam), #3 peaches and cream corn, #4 prep for sausage rolls (lean ground beef, lean ground pork, diced onions, shredded apples, diced sage), #5 wild blueberry scones.

Please post your inspirational food pictures and any recipes you find particularly fab! Feel free to drop in any time over the next 2 weeks, until the next food pic post.
