April, I have a pair of charcoal Cons and a kelly green pair. I wear my charcoals much, much more than I do the green. If you want an understated pair, charcoal is great!

I totally understand how you feel April! I'm glad you returned something that you weren't feeling 100%. I think you should give gray/charcoal Cons a shot! For more enabling, here are mine, which are the same color as NK's but different laces:
http://i617.photobucket.com/al.....C_2102.jpg

(ignore the wrinkly part in the tongue -- I didn't straighten them out)

April, I missed your original thread. So sorry they didn't work out for you. Would you consider getting the charcoal? I think they would look great on you!

Yes, April, though I'm more of a 'collector' than an actual card-maker. Hey, wait! I did churn out 60 valentines for my kids this year! ;)

http://adventuresincarpooling......s-day.html

Here are my new sneakers:

http://whenlifehandsyouapear.w.....-converse/

I think the color is neutral enough to work for me.

NK -- I just looked at your profile page: papercrafts and card making? Be still my heart. Fellow card-maker here...

Yes, I also like the youthful/retro look of the Cons -- I just think I need a less "look at my shoes" color.

Bummer, but I know what you mean. Maybe it was the color? I bought my first pair of Converse this week, from the kids' department no less, and wore them shopping today. I think they make me feel kind of rebelious and immature, but then, sometimes I kinda like that. ;)

I orginially got the black, but went back and exchanged them for charcoal gray.

I'm glad April. I wouldn't mind them on you, but I don't think they were a "must have" by any stretch. You have a very refined style so I can see why you wouldn't be totally comfortable with them.

I think I knew in my heart that they weren't truly a shoe I would feel confident wearing. "Fun" clothing items are trickier to pull off when you're a smaller person, since you really can end up looking like a kid.
