The heel is quite high, but the platform is too. So the "real" heel height is about 3.5 inches, which I still wear all the time with well-fitting shoes, which I think these are. The heel and platform are both really stable, so that makes a big difference. I was up and down the stairs *many* times last night while taking these pictures (somehow in my mind that makes up for playing in my closet instead of going for the run I should have done!) and they felt pretty good. I will wear them around the house for a bit before making the final commitment. Same with the skinny pants in the last one - they sort of ballooned out at the top of the boot. That might be an issue with any actual pant I try to tuck into the boot. It happened a bit even with my super skinny jeans.
