My hair is definitely "style floppy" lately! Since my last cut, it just hasn't been its old self, and each morning I have no idea what surprise it's going to have in store for me!
And after having a consistent weight for several years, I've put on some extra weight in the last couple of years, so I'm now back to having a closet with a range of sizes in it--bleah! So, yes, feeling some of your frustration and just trying to carry on. Just remember: it's all invisible to most other people we meet day to day. They just see us and think, "oh, there she is--looking fine as usual!"

Thank you all! You are so sweet!

Sandy, your idea really made me think... I forget sometimes how great it is to have a few good outfits to repeat (which I tend to do anyway).

You all are wonderful. I'll post something tonight with my hair and what I wear to our niece's ballet.

Congrats to your, your sister and mom on the weight loss campaign and keep in mind what you'll achieve in the long run! I find summer is filled with temporary items, what with stains and rips and general wear in thin fabrics, so I don't count many items as permanent. If you concentrate on a couple of looks for your favorite activities and maybe one dressier event, feel free to fill in with altered new items or hunt the sales and thrift shops for new-and-cheap.

Feeling fabulous in your jeans is a good way to start the summer!

So sorry you've been feeling in a style flop. It's often this way when weight is changing. My solution was really no solution -- I basically wore the same pair of yoga pants through the entire 6 months of my weight loss!

Please go easy on yourself -- I am sure you look great! Can't wait to see your new hair.

This is a hard spot to be in. I do like Adelfa's suggestion that you consider Target or the like for a couple of transition items. Tailor some of the items if you can. And if you can't don't be hard on yourself about it.

Exactly, Peri! It is SO hard to find that sweet spot with fashion when there is such a flux - whether it is with the body or the new styles... It feels like things are constantly in motion and not settled!

I'm feeling very style floppy too. The wide leg pants I've wanted for years are coming back in style and I can finally find pants I want to buy...and I have no idea what tops to wear with them. Comfort, 10 out of 10! Style...2 out of 10? I've bought about 6 tops but only feel great in one of them.

Yep, I'm floundering, to continue the fish reference!

Thanks so much for the encouragement everyone! You are all so sweet! Deborah, I like the idea of tailoring. My husband has an aunt who will help me, I'm sure. That would help salvage some things I don't want to get rid of...

I will post a pic of the new hair... as soon as I can figure out how to fix it. My stylist reminded me that my hair is straight and has a mind of its own... but I stubbornly insisted. And she was right. (Of course). I want to love it, and think that I will...

I've been feeling style floppy for different reasons .. and have also been away from YLF. But I'm trying to come back too.
So glad to hear that your weight work is working -- that's a good thing, and the clothing issues will settle down.
Will you post a pic of your new shorter hair? I'd love to see it (as would everyone, I'm sure!)

Sarah, just these days I was wondering what happened to you. I'm glad you chimed in. I miss you.
FWIW, sort out what has the best chances of making you happy in the long run. If it's weight, then so be it. Wardrobe will follow. Wear what's flattering enough in this transition. But be kind to yourself first and foremost.

The jeans look fab, but you don't need them to be fab - you know it.

Weight fluctuations are so hard to deal with, I totally understand. Sometimes when my clothing budget doesn't have a lot to give for a new weight, I go to Target. They really have some cute clothes! Old Navy too. Even a couple of inexpensive purchases can help you feel more current.

Understand how you feel but go easy on yourself because you always look fab. You may need to have some tailoring of the items that are too big. I am waiting patiently for a pic of the new hair:)

My weight seems to have levelled out and while Im sitting at 3 to 5 kg heavier than I like, my strategy is to buy items with stretch lol. And the oversized trend works quite nicely too:)

Yeah, try not to be too hard on yourself during this time of transition - I'm pretty floppy floppy too right now ... working out is making my weight go up and I'm bulking up too, so some of my "size 2" stuff doesn't fit and it makes me upset ... but I feel great and strong! We have to celebrate these things!

Sarah, you are being too hard on yourself. Weight changes and the resulting wardrobe that doesn't fit are bound to case frustration. Congratulations on getting some jeans that fit.

I have been feeling badly about not being on here more lately. I love it so much, but have been in the weirdest style crisis lately... And have had zero energy these days.

I was finally making peace with some extra pounds and had just purchased more clothing than my budget cared for, but loved the new styles and fits. Then I suddenly joined my mom and sister on an intense weight loss program, which is working wonderfully. I am certainly not complaining about that. The problem is that now the new stuff is too big and the old stuff is to small... and the bottoms that fit don't work with the tops that fit... I'm looking forward to wearing some of the smaller things again, but they are from several seasons ago and aren't nearly as exciting as some things from this season. But guess where my budget went? To all of this season's clothes I am getting too small for! Arghhhhhh.

Oh yeah... And on a whim, I had my hair cut even shorter, and I'm still trying to figure out how to style it!

So... I'm really not meaning to complain. Just sort of explain why I've been offline, and also just acknowledge that I'm all over the map and really don't know which end is up!

A few bright spots in the middle of it all:
I felt fabulous in my jeans today... which hasn't happened in a long time.
I'm going to visit my dear friend Tricia in July for almost a week!
And when I reach my weight goal, I'm going to buy these jeans! They are totally RATE and different from anything I have had before. I love them! Even in a larger size, they fit nicely (and I can get them at half price). http://www.cabionline.com/coll.....rett-jean/

Anyone else feeling all style floppy like me lately?
