It is the style but also this particular rendition--it just fits me off the hanger, and when I tuck in my T I don't feel self-conscious, or wear hem out and it's okay, and the length is not too long or too short. It's a friendly skirt! But then separates do allow changing up sleeves, fabrics, colors.</p> <p>I am not a big "peace with the crease" person, which eliminates most linen from my wardrobe except for inexpensive linen shirts I wear for outdoor work and ignore the creases. But darker colors help disguise creasing a bit and blends tend to do better.</p> <p>I am likely to keep this skirt as it has some HEWI properties--it sits at&nbsp; &nbsp; at my natural waist and fits without needing alterations, but not squeezingly tight; it has a side zip which give it&nbsp; &nbsp; a very nice fit through tummy and upper hip (no pockets thought!), but with the flare for hips, and it falls just below knee, which is "short" of a midi,&nbsp; but just right for casual wear, and has nice twirly movement. The good fit through the waist and upper part means I can tuck in or can wear shorter tops out, and a variety of footwear, all very casual at present. I don't currently have the perfect casual black flat espadrille or closed-toe sandal and am not actively looking, but that is a type of shoe I have worn well before and keep on my "list" if something turns up.</p> <p>This is the type of fit one might also get with gores, or stitched-down upper pleats.&nbsp;</p> <p>I considered the denim (I think in Tencel) as a good casual fabric/color but thought I would get more use out of black and the linen feel.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p> </p>
