I've always thought of peacoats as so iconic that they adapt to many trends -- military, preppy, a very cool structured foil for avant garde. I see all those permutations on the streets in Paris and Milan every year. The color makes a big difference: camel, more trad. It came home with me, as did a fantastic pair of Tibi wool crossover trousers that I can wear to work.</p> <p>I thought long and hard about the coat as I was hoping to get something trenderiffic. Which I could justify as I wear coats all year. But in reality i am not someone who makes the effort to match coat to outfit- I match to weather and activity. So I'd rather have a coat that can be thrown on with everything and look fine, and the quality is important. I imagine this coat was originally a lot more than I spent, and it is like new.
