I also do not like the look of dark jeans and balck ballet flats but only because it makes me feel very bottom heavy (to my eye). I much prefer to wear bronze, beige, or blush pink - these are my neutral tones. Last year despite reservations I ended up wearring them with anything and everything. I think with your darker hair color the bronze are perfect for you!!</p> <p>As for your foot showing - the answer is to get a trouser cut jean and wear it super long so that barely any skin shows at all. This is the case with my COH Huttons. If your jean leg width is narrow, some skin is going to show.<br /> I have both bronze and pewter flats that I like with dark blue jeans (and almost everything else.) I also like my animal print flats with jeans. It could just be that your eye is not used to that look, but that way, others could give an objective opinion. I've never really noticed the leg line broken by the skin that shows while wearing a ballet flat, but I've never put that much thought into it either. </p> <p>I think bronze would be a fun color to try. I don't think you necessarily have to restrict it to being worn with only warm colors. I think bronze with jeans and a black top would be striking together, personally. It makes you feel a little more elevated. I prefer the look of boots, for that uninterrupted leg line. But boots don't work for a lot of the time in the sunny climate where I live (Los Angeles.) I don't wear huge heels - anything around 2" or under usually works. </p> <p>However, after extensive searching, comparing, consultations with my astrologer, triangulations, and meditation, I just bought my first pair of flats! I'm excited to "push the envelope" on my fashion limitations a bit. I bought a pair of basic black ballet-type flats - the Me Too Nini. I like them, especially with black leggings or black straight leg jeans.</p> <p>However, I'm not so crazy about them with (dark blue) jeans. The thing that always bothers me about flats is that bit of skin you see between the end of the pant leg and the shoe. I know it sounds absolutely nutty, but to me, it interrupts my tiny stumpy leg line, making my legs look even tinier and stumpier. This could totally be in my imagination, but that's how it looks to me. Not on other people, with longer legs. But on me, with my stumps (and okay, yes, thunder thighs.) </p> <p>What color flat would look best with (dark blue) jeans? I wear and very much like black boots or sandals with jeans all the time, but to me, the black flats didn't work. Should I look for a flat that's a lighter color, like my skin color? Or would that make me look like my pants end abruptly and I have no feet? </p> <p>Should I look for a color, like red? </p> <p>If the Nini came in silver, I'd gobble them up, but they don't. I did find a similar shoe from Me Too in Silver - I think it's called "Nadia" (at Nordstrom's.) </p> <p>The Nini does come in "bronze" which is very pretty, but I don't wear a lot of warm colors. Would bronze look good with jeans and a cool-based wardrobe? </p> <p>As you can see, I am WAAAAY overthinking the flats issue, but that's what I do. </p> <p>Thanks! </p>
