I’m shopping at Banana Republic right now, taking advantage of their 40% off sale. Been trying out some shorter wide legs with the Fitflops I wanted to replace and the jeans actually look great in them! </p> <p>I do know that mirrors trick the eyes and I am also an emotional shopper. Would love a second (third or fourth) opinion on the jeans!</p> <p>I’m likely getting the pink top and the cardigan, but these are the looks I wear on a daily basis. </p> <p>Thanks again!</p> <p>PS. I have silver Fitflop sneakers that I’ve had for a long time and I love wearing them with my wide leg pants (see pic #2). When I wear my black boots with it (see #1), it looks really boring and a bit “stumpy” despite being a monochrome colour scheme. With my American Eagle flares, it looks a bit too “90’s” for my taste. </p> <p>@Angie: thank you again for providing me with guidance on this! I purged a lot of my shoes and clothing items to make sure I’m comfortable and stylish. </p> <p>#1 is my only pair of ankle boots at the moment. I bought it because they are FITFLOPS but for some reason they don’t work on pants #2 and #3. The boots are completely covered in pants #4 (they are hemmed to the ground). I actually regret purchasing the boots because I find them too clunky and they don’t work with my narrow feet (Fitflop tends to change their fit, which is really frustrating). </p> <p>I am looking to replace #1 with #5 (I own the tall boots of a similar footbed and toe style). Despite being much more comfortable, the shape of the boot seems similar to the boots you posted (and I love slightly pointy toes). Although I wonder - should I go with a lower shaft style instead? It’s been ages since I’ve been here. I know the “new full length” article is a month old but I thought I’d ask about it anyway as I haven’t been to YLF in a while!</p> <p>I am really struggling making this new longer length work. I live in Canada (where it snows and is occasionally wet) and I commute by public transit or by foot on a daily basis. I’ve also donated almost all my footwear and only wear Fitflop sneakers and boots (1.5” flatforms all around) during the colder months. While I’m very partial to floor length pants with heels or flats, I’ve been finding them to be impractical.</p> <p>In addition, i tend to “bat for team dressy” and am often wearing fluid silky blouses (with or without blazers) over flared/wide leg jeans or pants. I have a pair of American Eagle Artist Flares in the new full lengths but the outfit looks too “cobbled together” and “frumpy” with my dressy top and boots. My theory, though is that the flare is too narrow. </p> <p>Ideally, I would love to make the new lengths work with flat dressy boots without looking “frumpy.” I’ve scoured the web for examples but I can’t find any that satisfies my style. Sneakers look fantastic in this length (I’ve made it work for weekends) but I don’t feel like “myself” when I wear them with my dressier tops (though I’ve seen this work on many women. It’s just not me). </p> <p>If any Fabbers have made flat boots work with these new pant lengths, would you be able to share your examples with me? </p> <p>Thanks so much! </p>
