Where I live, high rise jeans are SUPER trendy. Everyone's wearing them (except me, because I make them look dorky). I think they do take care of the muffin top issue, because all the pesky belly squish ends up "girdled" by the fabric, but the downside is that if your tummy isn't flat, the zipper curves outward with the swell of your belly and really accentuates it. If this happens, you can either (a) not care, or (b) wear a top that covers the zip. ;-)

I think that midrise jeans are actually more popular than low rise, and high rise jeans are becoming extremely trendy right now. My favorite style is the midrise because it is still flattering but low enough to lengthen my short torso. I would try some midrise jeans out and see if that fixes your problem.

I have a similar issue, and find that I do much better with mid-rise jeans. I'm short waisted and have a long rise, so that comes into play as well. I don't know your age, but I personally like NYDJ jeans and pants.

There are a lot of great mid-rise options from great brands that are definitely not mom jeans. I know that fear! And you don't have to go all the way to high-rise, which may feel more mom-ish to you. (They look great on some people; on me, not so much.)

I love the mid rise jeans from AG and JBrand. Very modern and fit beautifully. No muffin top! Hooray!!!

Yes, go higher in the rise. I have the same problem. When I wanted to wear lower rises I went a size up and belted or had a tailor alter them.

Low rise jeans are actually "out" right now, at least based on what I'm seeing at retail. I have the opposite body type from you, in that I get more muffin top as the rise goes up because I'm proportionate at the low hip but disproportionately fluffy in the waist--and it's a bear for me to find low rise jeans these days, especially with the higher contoured back rise that I prefer.

So don't be afraid to go with a higher rise! Mid rise is always classic, and high rise jeans are trendy right now.

Thank you.. Thank you..
I was thinking that it's time to move to mid rise.. I do have blue flare jeans that are sort of high/ mid rise ( hit just above my navel?) and they are wonderful..
Just thought low waist were more trendy and high waist were like mom jeans.. I hope that's not true..
Thanks again..

You'll find that a higher rise does a great job of smoothing out muffin top, which means going for another style.

I have to wear a belt with all my jeans because they keep slipping down. I usually don't tuck my tops in, and the belts are not the big bulky ones where you have a gigantic buckle that sticks out. I think mid rise or high waist jeans are both great options as well. The high waist ones can give you opportunity to wear a non-extreme cropped top without showing your midriff. Which gives you another reason to go shopping

Hi,
I'm new here. Have been long time follower of YLF. Needed help with a very specific fit issue.. Or may be not so specific..
I've 2 pairs of Levi's, both low waist. My issue is if i wear the current size, there's some muffin top. If I go a size up, I an literally yank them off without any need to open it up.. So in constant fear of them going down, embarrassing as hell..
What do I do.. Hide muffin top? Go up a size somehow? Or ditch low waist and go for mid rise or high?
FYI, I'm inverted triangle, defined waist..
Please help and Thanks in advance..
