Confession: My new Gap Leans moved into second place as favourite jeans. They pushed Marc Jacobs down to third favourite and COH down to fourth. Hah!

But my J.Brands still reign supreme because those zippers make me smile.

I have gone down a size on them too (0/25, I am usually 26). I thought I would be wearing them leggings only, but I already wore them as skinnies and like the look. I went for the tightest possible size that was still comfortable. I go the dark faded wash.

Beth, if you check the YLF reviews and the online Gap reviews, I think you'll find that each wash fits a bit differently. I have one wash in my regular size and another wash in one size up. But they both look very similar on me. I would say I got them in a fit that is somewhere in between leggings and skinnies. There is some wrinkling around the knees (but not much), and no painted-on look. Both pairs are a teeny bit loose in the waist.

I'd say yours in the slightly larger fit sound just right. Of course, if these stretch out much, we'll both be wishing we sized down.

I went down a size in the Gap LEANS actually, Beth I LOVE them so much! I am duplicating very soon.

They are as tight as my J. Brand zipper jeans and I wear them as jeans.

I have Gap always skinny jeans. I tried on the Gap jeggings and needed a size bigger. They were low on the waist on me but otherwise adorable.

I am new on this site and probably too green to advise on this, but I'll give it a shot since I just bought a pair of black jeggins from GAP.
Personally, I went for the smallest size I could fit into without having any bulging issues (muffintop anyone?). My thinking being that since they are mostly cotton, they will stretch out with wear.
For sizing reference, I'm 5'8 and usually wear size 8 tall in GAP trousers ( since I like a looser fit). I went with 6 tall for the jeggings.

I wear my jeggings tighter than my skinnies. I have JBrand though. I also like my skinnies on the tight side.

I haven't tried the new gap jean leggings, but I do think that it isn't a problem to wear them tighter than you would regular skinny jeans. As long as they aren't too tight they should be more flattering than a pair of leggings (the extra structure in the fabric should keep the jiggle down) and more comfy that jeans. I think the comfort and the snugger fit is kind of the point. However, if you want the skinny jean look, you can probably wear them looser.

I think the leggings run a tad small but I am wearing mine as leggings (jeggings) not jeans. Mine are a little looses in the waist but still look like leggings but not like they are painted on at all. They are very comfortable and tuck in my boots so much better that the forever skinny jeans do. I will post a picture if that would help because I really like the way they fit. I bet yours look good also. The jeggings are not as tight as regular leggings. Does that make sense?

These are going to be perfect for tucking into boots this fall! I'm curious as to how others are wearing them size-wise, though.

I tried on my usual size, which fit well in the waist and seat, but the legs were skintight and definitely looked like leggings. When I went up a size, the waist was slightly loose but the seat fit well. The legs were slightly looser: still tight, but with some wrinkling around the knees, more like standard jeans.

Are you all wearing these as leggings or jeans? I think some wrinkling in the knees might look better than the painted-on look, but what is the YLF consensus as to the better look?
