Shiny, I never thought of my shoulders as being sharply defined. I guess I'm too fixated on their narrowness (makes me have to buy petites' 99 percent of the time) to think about them being well defined. Thank you for the compliment!

Well, it looks like this dress will make the cut. I hope to wear it to my next Argentine tango outing. I thank all of you for your comments. It really helped make my decision easier so that I don't ruminate!

If anyone is considering buying the dress but is worried that it will be too body-con, it really isn't all that tight. It just skims the body nicely without being constricting. I have a larger rear end, and the dress still isn't tight. I'm usually stuck wearing fit-and-flares, so it's nice to have something that's a bit of a different silhouette.

Nobody is going to notice the droop -- they'll be too busy admiring your sharply defined shoulder line!

I've got broad & straight shoulders but they aren't sharp at all, so these cold shoulder looks are horrible on me. Please wear it so I can live vicariously through you.

Since it's a knit it seems kind of natural that it would droop a little. It would have to be tight to be snug and then it would look uncomfortable and eventually stretch out.

They may have pinned the dress on the model for the photo. It looks really cute on you.

Gigi I don't mind this fit at all, especially since you have a good boho streak to your style. Lovely dress!

Thanks for all the input, everyone! I thought about alterations, but I'm quite overextended at the moment and know that I likely wouldn't get to a tailor before I have occasion to wear the dress.

It wouldn't be a bad idea for me to start pumping iron (I should do that already, ha), but I'm not sure I would gain enough girth to fill it out. So if it doesn't look horrible, I'll probably leave as-is for the moment.

It's funny...it seems like everything out there has such narrow sleeves nowadays, but this dress is the odd one out!

Thanks for chiming in, Angie. It makes me feel good to know that the droop at the shoulder is just different and not an eyesore.

You could take up lifting weights or swimming? I would have the same problem trying to fill out this type of cold shoulder sleeve. It sounds like alterations could be the answer.

I have a cold-shoulder top that had a droopy arm, and I had it altered to a more flattering fit. That was a short flutter sleeve though. Could this be taken in a bit? It is a really great top.

Oh, what a shame! The dress is beautiful and you look fab in it, but I see the problem. And your arms look absolutely ok to me. Can you consider altering the sleeves ?

I just bought a beautiful dress from WHBM, but I'm not sure if the sleeves fit properly. It's a cold-shoulder dress, and my upper arms are very small around, so there is a bit of droop to the fabric at the top of the sleeve. I tried to take a picture to show the problem. Is this OK or should I return the dress? Thanks for the help!

P.S. Sorry for the grainy pic. My phone has very poor resolution.
