I have a number of second hand designer items purchased locally and love that I am reforming a great piece and it is within my budget due to being gently used. Most items I buy are in excellent condition that have been rarely worn or used. There is SO much to sort through and sometimes when I think I've found something the condition isn't what I was hoping for. I also like that they're trying to reduce textile waste and reusing items. Love that skirt. I have used Poshmark and ThredUp. I had better luck with Poshmark because you can get exact measurements. I did find that worn items tended to look more worn in real life than in the pictures so will be looking more for new items going forward. That said, if I do this ten times in a year and nothing works out - I am out $250 and nothing to show for it. That's a lot of money that adds up. So I am careful to choose items that I think are more of a slam dunk, IYKWIM. For example, I will never order shoes from TRR. I can order 20 pairs without a pair working out! I need to order shoes from sites that offer free shipping. JAileen, that is frustrating. So far, the descriptions of the items at TRR have been spot on. They were INDEED new, tags on, pristine, never worn, and as expected. I also shop TRR in this relaxed way, with minimal expectations. I pay close attention to measurements, but I've found that even that can go wrong -- I think some people measure a hip in a different place than I do. :-/  That's a lovely skirt, and what a great deal! Skirts are a good bet for alteration when a size too big. I just ordered a skirt from Anthro that was available only in the smaller of my two likely sizes, or two sizes up.
