I’ve never fallen so much in my life when I learnt how to snow board, but it was loads of fun. You'll need proper sports gear to wear and dressing in layers is key as pink cobra mentioned. You’ll need great snow gloves, thermal inners, polar fleece and an outer shell. A hat is essential. Keep your look colourful and fun.

Oh, you're going to love it! Or hate it...lol. I've been boarding for 12 years and love it! I tried downhill skiing twice, had a horrible time, switched to boarding and have been doing that as much as possible ever since. Just know that your butt, calves, knees and wrists will probably be sore the day after. Dress in layers, because you'll most likely get really warm and wind up in just your hoodie or even just your tee shirt over a long sleeve shirt. Wear clothes that are comfortable and don't ride up or rub. I generally just wear a pair of long johns under my boarding pants, a long sleeved tee under a short sleeved tee, a hoodie and my jacket. Good luck and most importantly, have fun!!

My family and I are going on our first ever ski trip. (Actually, we are all going to learn to snow board!) This will be an East coast ski area. I know the area is very casual, and I will have no need to wear anything remotely dressy. But if anyone has any tips or suggestions, whether they be fashion related, or more about making our trip comfortable--I'd love to hear about it!
Thanks!
Nic
