Susan-Congrats on your weight loss and style! I agree with what the others have said-love the way you tied the scarfs, your colors, and look. When you get the length situation figured out, you'll have it all!

You look great! I especially love the scarves. I've been trying to convince myself to buy and try a few scarves, and I think that you're the final inspiration that I need. Like others, I felt that the first two skirts were a little too long. I love the dress with the denim jacket. Very cute!

Congratulations on your weight loss. That's awesome!

Susan, it looks like we have even more in common: I am in the middle of a significant weight loss, with about 20 more pounds to go. Knowing that you've done it and have kept it off is so inspiring! (I've also lost and gained it before too, so I understand the fear.)

I have found that buying things in my new size has motivated me to keep going; I am LOVING the way styles I always wanted to try are finally looking good on me, and that I am just on the cusp of being able to shop in any store I want! (Remember at size 16 how limited you were?) So use this moment to experiment, to step out of the idea of what you think you should wear, and try items out of your comfort zone. You will probably be amazed at what you look like and what you like! It's extremely motivating as well.

Looking forward to seeing you on the forum!

Welcome to the forum! You already got quite a lot of helpful feedback about skirt length, but I just want to say that I love your denim jacket and definitely hope you post a tutorial about your scarf knot. I'm a scarf gal and would love to try it out.

I'm very much a beginner hobby photographer and am amazed by the samples you posted on your blog. The vivid colors in the October Sunset and Quarry Park series took my breath away.

Welcome, Susan! It’s great that you managed to post pictures. Well done! You are utterly adorable.

I LOVE your sense of colour and the way you’ve matched classic pieces with funky items. Great stuff! You are on the right style track for sure.

Antje and the others are spot about experimenting with skirt lengths. You have to find your "sweet spot" and it looks like right in the middle of your knee cap might be yours. Let’s see more.

Hello Susan, what a fabulous sense of colour you have. Your combinations (sorry, that sounds like undies) - coordinations look great. I'll look forward to seeing more outfits. Perhaps knowing that you're sharing with the lovely forum will help you keep the weight off this time. It's a grand achievement.

Susan, congratulations on your weight loss! Please share your secrets. I'm about the same size and have just had enough! I know there are others on the forum who have lost considerable weight and hopefully all can support each other with wonderful feedback on how great you look to encourage keeping the weight off!

Seriously, I love how the scarves are tied - so cool!

Once you get the lengths figured out on the first two outfits, you're good to go! Can you lengthen the third at all?

OMG you gals....That seriously is the first time I have ever worn such a scarf and I was scared to death to post my photos! Now you think I can do a tutorial?? WOW, I am speechless!

I will go back thru Angie's posts to find out the perfect length for me. I never have given it much thought and just went with whatever was available.

In Jan 2008 I was a size 16 (I am 5'3) and had one pair of black dress pants. I wore them every single day to work and just alternated tops. I didn't feel good about myself or my weight. I absolutely didn't dress to attract attention!!! I am now down to a size 4 and feel fantastic. The problem is that I have lost this amount of weight 5 other times (at least) in my life. I always put it back on - plus extra. I am hoping that all my fun new (actually all thrift store finds) wardrobe will keep me from putting it all on again.

Thanks for the hints and tips ladies, I so much appreciate it.

April - I am actually looking for some casual flats to wear until I get into the office and can change into my usual heels. I know it has to look horrid, but I sometimes walk a 1/2 mile from my car to my office building.

I will work on the length issues and repost. AGAIN - THANKS SO MUCH!!

Great job, Susan!
I like all the outfits, particularly the wrap dress and denim jacket.

I do not think the scarves overwhelm you, I do think that the third skirt is a bit short and the others are a bit too long.

Hi Susan! I'm also a hobby photographer too, and I am always appalled at how my outfit photos turn out. I feel your pain! I think for me I have realized my bedroom is much darker than I think it is -- I've been getting dressed in the dark!

Now, onto your outfits: I love the scarves and the color combos you put together. The brown, pink and green is particularly lovely. Like others mentioned, a shorter skirt might be better for your lines.

Can't wait to see your scarf tutorial! I love the way you've done them here.

Welcome, Susan! So funny that rosebudrmm asked for a tutorial on how you tied the scarves -- while viewing your pictures I was planning to ask the same thing. (Consider yourself badgered...)

I agree with Antje on the skirt lengths.

That first combo is very nice; I particularly like the semi-rugged vibe of the jacket along with the floaty skirt. The jean jacket is a good touch with the second dress, which might look a bit conservative without it. On the last one, besides your combination with the white sweater, I might try a colored sweater -- maybe a color to complement the embroidered flowers, though it wouldn't have to match.

Do you think you might consider finding soft, comfy flats that would look less jarring with your outfits than tennis shoes, until you get to work and change?

Hi Susan, thanks for posting! You have a great eye for color and accessorize really well with the scarves. The thing I'd encourage you to experiment with is the skirt length. In the first two pictures, you can go a bit shorter on the skirt/dress; they would look better -and flatter your legs more- if they hit at the knee rather than below it. And the third one looks too short.
Maybe pin up the first skirt and/or the dress in a couple different lengths and post a picture so we can help sort this out?

Susan, some great looks! I absolutely love how you tied your scarves. Would you be able to give a tutorial?

It's hard to tell whether the lengths on the first two are a bit long, particularly the second. I think with the heels on the first length would be great. Is the second dress longer? I love the pairing, but am just wondering whether the skirt could be a little shorter. I think you are right that the third dress may be a bit short for work.

You really pulled together the first outfit with picking up the colors in the skirt with your top and jacket. I love the print on the second dress with the denim.

I'm still working on figuring out the picture-taking, and I love taking photos!

Hi,
