I used to love Marshalls and TJ Maxx as a bargain shopper and then became dis-enamored by the amount of items specifically made for the off price market and the general poor upkeep of the sections. I love the Rack for their fantastic customer service (they also offer alterations), organization (mimics the store departments which are confusing until you get familar with them), but the items are often recently from stores so more current. I was told if there is a "W" on the tag it was from the warehouse and otherwise came from a regular B&amp;M store. As with most discount stores you cannot always find a specific item you are looking for, but can find good deals in lots of areas. DH wears a size 14 shoe so it's a must for him. I love the kids' shoe section along with their accessories, underwear and well everything else. I can filter the results based on what's available in my size. These are great tips and I only occasionally shop at Nordstrom Rack due to the "overwhelming" look of all the clothing items the place. But, checking the labels and markdowns is a good way to cull to your advantage.</p> <p>My purchases have been dresses (a Maggy London I love), shoes and scarves. Now, that I'm a bit more of a sage shopper, after YLF influence, I'll take closer looks at the premium denim and nice jackets. One tip: There is great stuff there, but really pay attention to the quality of the clothes. Nordstrom Rack has markdowns from the regular Nordstrom, but they also have lower quality stuff that they bring in to sell. I always look at the tag to make sure that it was at the regular store and has been marked down. I've found some great things, including a brilliant pair of black almond toe pumps with a thicker heel that I wear all the time. I'd paid Anniversary Sale price for a brownish-gray pair, so finding them in black at the Rack was divine!
