Rachylou, are you pulling my leg? :-0

Nathalie, it took me five hours, and several breaks, to do what's apparently a 30-minute project. bf's sister was very generous and patient with her time, and I was surprised this worked so well on FaceTime (video chat). It helped that she *had* to let me do every step; if she'd been there in person, she'd probably have gone crazy at how long it takes me to translate desired motion into actual action.

I'm thinking sewing might be useful occupational therapy, if I can find the right instructors. I'd made unexpectedly good recovery TBI-wise, but have plateaued (and in some ways regressed) and need to find new angles for continuing improvement.

DianeG, bf likes that feature, too!

This looks great! I like how you moved the wrap to the side/back. Neat idea.

I think that nothing is as comfortable for lounging as a maxi skirt. Great job! The flap is interesting. I have a faux wrap skirt from J. Jill--I thought of it when I saw your skirt. The J. Jill one has the wrap on the front, though.

Fabric: knit from bf's sister's not-quite-discard box. (She buys fabric, has it sent to his place, then packs up what she likes when she visits. The rest is apparently shop-able.)

Goal: to get acquainted with bf's sewing machine, with directions from his sister via FaceTime, within limits of my patience and coordination bandwidth

Ideal: floor-length lounge skirt with enough wrap to keep air out, to cover my legs when I'm curled up on sofa.

Result: it's really comfortable, gives plenty of coverage without feeling bulky. While I like the freedom of movement of a wrap skirt, I have a poison eye for the usual front overlap. This construction, with main overlap starting at back center and opening just forward of side, gets around that. *I* don't have to look at it!

Not sure how a black skirt fits with the lounge capsule I've nearly completed, but that's a challenge for another week.
