A short wool coat is very practical in Seattle. Top coats look splendidly elegant but are harder to drive in. I have all sorts of coats - long short, thick, thin, casual, dressy - ALL workhorses. I also have a slew of jackets. I am shopping for non-gear coats this year. Actually, I did just buy a replacement field jacket from Lands End. It is currently shipping. I've also been looking for a bomber/baseball style jacket and a menswear style top coat. I'm not sure about the topcoat anymore, though--I think it might be more "imaginary lifestyle" than an actual need. And I realize that the cropped coats may not suit this sweater. I'll probably also pick up a long, heavy black cardi coat for layering. Feedback is welcome . (Finds are the new field jacket and an existing pea coat (blue) that I do not love, but I own it and it's functional for the time being--it fits well, at least. Emily K on "First Round--Rec'd and Tried-on" https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/first-round--recd-and-tried-on#post-1829308 Tue, 25 Jul 2017 18:30:59 +0000 Emily K 1829308@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ I received the things I ordered at midnight on the opening day of the sale to the general public.  I ordered the Halogen Tie-Hem Sweater in two sizes and the "Poe" sandals (although those weren't a NAS item).   I sized down in the sweater because I like a tidier and more stream-lined fit on my body.  The one pictured is Petite Small.  Is it OK, do you think?  I also ordered PM, and that one looks too big. For reference, I'm 5'4" and my bust measurement is 32DDD+ (It seems weird to be wearing a size small AND I do not usually choose petite.)  The tie is a little fussy--one side is quite a bit thicker and contoured in a way that makes it a bit difficult to tie flat and neat.  I'm wondering how many times they fussed with it before getting the catalog photo!  I think I can live with it, though (Give me honest advice, though, if you think the fit is off--I can return both.) The shoes, unfortunately, are a total no-go.  I'm so sad!  I really liked them in the catalog photo but they just do not fit.  I don't think they'd fit anyone, really.  They are super, super stiff material in the upper and wide and gappy all around--an odd thing for me to complain about as my feet are on the wide side and high volume.  So sure was I that I'd love these shoes that I already created a bunch of outfits around them.  Drat.  Back to the drawing board.
