I have a wide foot, high arches, AND a wide calf, so finding boots that fit at all, any boots, is unspeakably difficult. (I don't really have the budget for having them made.) My current boots are men's (smallest size they had) lace-up, short boots. And in this climate, I have no choice, I have to wear them. Needless to say, I take shoes to change into at church!
