I would not think twice about wearing those in a very casual office or to a dinner on the town, but then I live in LA. Your downtown might be more conservative than what I think of when I think "downtown." </p> <p>STILL, I feel strongly that, if you keep the rest of the outfit simple, these can look very chic and sophisticated. My personal life tends to dinners on the town (downtown) and movies in the 'burbs. </p> <p>I wouldn't have been hesitating if they were say a half of th price. But at that kind of money: will I get enough wear out of them? Are they too "fetish"-ey? Are they too "out there" for my mostly suburban/conservative life? Are they too trendy to wear occasionally for the next few years?</p> <p>How would you style them so that they don't seem so "in your face"?</p> <p>Or, am I just being too sensitive?</p> <p>Thanks for any help! </p>
