Not a sewer, but jumpsuits need to be on the looser side, otherwise you can't put them on.

I would take it to a tailor and see if it can be fixed. You could also try using some fashion tape to prevent the gaping.

Nice jumpsuit, it fits well everywhere other then bust area, where it does look a little loose. I would take it to a good local tailor and ask what can be done to fix the issue.

What I am seeing is that the edges of the front opening are a little longer than you need. Otherwise, it looks fine! Putting in some darts could help. I think lower darts would work better because they will be less noticeable -- one would be hidden under the overlap, even. The darts should point at your bust apex.

Fabric type and construction could have some impact on how nice the result is. Some fabrics are bulky, so folding out darts becomes too lumpy, some fabrics are hard to sew neatly, etc. I can't tell what kind of fabric this is (and I'm not a fabric expert, anyhow -- I mainly sew with the user-friendly stuff).

I suggest putting on the jumpsuit inside out and pinning out the excess to see how much it helps with the overall fit, and go from there.

Kiwigal I definitely do not want to show my bra. It is a big no no in my book.

Adding snap is a good idea. But Sorry I guess I did not state clearly. Splitting of neckline is an issue but there are darts on bust area too. You know those stitches that create shape/fit which start from underarms and move toward bust.
That area is still loose. may be I can take a better picture.

Thank you for your responses.

I'm not a sewer but do you think a few stitches could secure the top in place? Or perhaps a tiny snap might work to prevent the top from splitting open? Both you could easily do yourself.

I am not a great sewer, so I can't answer this. There does seem to be room around the torso. I wonder if you would still need to layer with a camisole/tank - or be happy with some bra peeking out.

The waist and legs look to fit very nicely.

Hello everyone,

I recently bought my very first jumpsuit. It is from top shop and I found it at a reasonable price. It arrived yesterday and I am quite pleased with overall length, style and fit except for one thing.

It is a bit loose at bust area and neckline splits opens. Depending on brand I am usually between size 8-10. This is topshop size 10 ( fits like 10-12) . I am wondering if there is a way to improve the fit.

What do you think about the fit from pictures?
( I tried my best to show you what I see from my angle -- sorry I don't have a full length shot)

Do you think I can get it taken in from bust area without destroying its shape?

Update:

there are darts on the bust area and as they help creating a better fit but in this case It's still very loose. May be experienced sewers can chime in.
That was the only size available and I am inclined to keep it.

Thanks
