Thanks Angie, yes it certainly makes a huge difference to try on multiple sizes. I sometimes forget to do it but get much better results when I do it. It also makes it really easy to tell if you are between sizes and need to consider the alteration route.

Thanks Inge.

Suz thanks, I've been told red is great on me for years, and I do wear it but usually in winter. I was reminded that I once had a bright red dress with a high-ish neckline, long sleeves and a very low back...I looked pretty awesome in it! For that top I did end up with the MP as the right size and kept the blue also, another great color on me. Taking back all my NAS no-gos this week.

Yeah, that skirt just looked awful on me, it emphasized all the wrong things. I think maybe A line skirts that are not too wide an "A" might be a better choice. Or maybe a tube skirt in a larger size.

I missed this but just wanted to say that the red is gorgeous on you, and hope you keep the other size!

As for the skirt -- it's deceiving. These ones for some reason work better than most others that they seem identical to. Or they have for most wearers. But it's good to send it back if you are not convinced.

Ah thanks for linking to the other thread, Chris:-)
And I completely get it: it really is easier to evaluate fit when you can compare two sizes!

Inge wow do you have a good eye! I posted later on, in the regular forum, about these and some other recent additions. The small red top IS in fact too small, when I tried on the next size up (I ordered both) it was so obvious! And the pants shown here ARE a little too large, when I tried the smaller one (again, purchased both) they were perfect. I can't tell by looking at just one, I have to compare two sizes to find the right one. Maybe with more practice it will get easier

In my other posting I show the blue top too. I'm thinking that grey sweater is maybe just a bit too plain. If you want to take a look at he newer posting, it's here...

Thanks Again!

I love that shade of red on you, Chris, and would like to see the size up to compare fit. I'm also liking the sound of the light blue version.
Charcoal sweater is also lovely, and will be a great, cosy piece for Fall and Winter too.
I really like the length of the white shirt on you. And the self-stripe adds fun textural interest. Like you said: add a cami and you are sorted :-)
The trousers: it's a little hard to see in the photos: I quite like how they look from the front, but there seems to be a bit of extra fabric from the side?

Looking forward to reading about your other NAS goodies

The first half of my final NAS order arrived today. I did a quick try-on to see how they fit, but did not do any styling. I am really liking the idea of adding some simple, well made pieces with modern styles for fall and winter. (A couple of the things that have not arrived are more interesting styles) All are shown with Lucky Skinny Jeans and the new Vince Camuto suede booties I'm trying out. I tried two different pant lengths with the booties and left it that way for all the pics.

1,2 Eileen Fischer Crewneck in Red. This is the SP which looks pretty good.....but I need to try on the MP too which will be a little looser. Love this color! The fabric is lovely and substantial, which means I can wear it without an underlayer until well into fall..yay! No wonder its' a top pic. I have this coming in black SP which I'm thinking might be a too-predictable-and-dull addition to my wardrobe, and in light blue in MP.

3,4 The cashmere pullover in charcoal seems just a little big but I think that's me getting used to the style. It's such a NICE design with the ribbed side panels. I had a hard time deciding between this color and camel, except that the camel was sold out and least for the moment.

5,6 The cotton shirt is really nice, a little longer on me than in the pic but totally ok. The ribbed pattern is more obvious IRL and it's a little bit sheer but I could put a cami under it.

7,8 Vince Camuto Pants; these are dark heather grey and fit well although I need to take the waist in just a little. I got black too. I need black pants for concerts in fall, winter, and spring, and ordered these because I think they are a slimmer cut and more modern looking than the black trousers I have now. I'll have to check that very carefully. As a general addition to my wardrobe I don't think these look all that stylish and I can probably do better. Am I off base do you think?

The Vince camuto skirt is too tight and long in the largest petite size. I suppose i could try a regular size and shorten the hem, but the fabric is a bit of a disappointment, it seems a bit flimsy. I already have a skirt a lot like this with not so great fit and fabric so I do NOT need a second one

I'm going to wait for the rest of the order to arrive before I do any serious outfit creation.

As always, would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions
