Thanks for the advice ladies.

Joy, I laughed when I read your comment. I kept wanting to put moleskin in more places until I realized I was probably overboard and would just end up covering the entire side!

Band-Aid Advanced Healing Blister Cushions are a great product *after* you've already got the blister. DD had a terrible blister from walking in Chicago all day, popped one on and kept going for two more days. They stay on for days.

I'm sorry you got blisters. It's good to know about these products. It is hard to believe our feet get so soft over the winter!

I'm here to second Janet's recommendation for Body Glide. It's the best stuff out there.
And I'm envious of your weather - we're still hanging out in the 65-70 degree range, which is a little too cool for me to wear sandals.

Body Glide! It's the best thing for preventing this. I use it to prevent chafing while cycling and running, and it is great for putting on sensitive spots on your foot to prevent rubbing and blisters.

Boo for blisters! Not much you can do except put on a band-aid and polysporin.....and avoid those shoes until healed. I was minutes away from blisters yesterday. Sat on a bench, off came the shoes and on went the stick. The stuff really works. It has saved me several times which is why I'm never without it.

If you already have the blister you could try the band aides meant for blisters- they seem to have enough cushion to protect them. Good luck!

Muffin, I'd never heard of using deodorant before. I'll keep that in mind until I pick up the real stuff.

Marylin, if it's too late when you have a blister already, I'm clearly out of luck. I'll try it next week.

Yes.....it happened yesterday. I wore new sandals while outlet shopping. Rubbed on some Dr. Scholls Rub Shield Stick (always in my purse) and they felt much better. Make sure to use it BEFORE the skin breaks. Once you've got a blister, you've got a blister.

I really like blister block (& keep a spare in my purse). My sister turned me on to it years ago when we were traveling & I had to borrow her shoes because mine had rubbed my feet raw.

I've got moleskin in what I thought were problematic spots. But I must have missed some! Might have to invest in some blister block too, at this rate.

The summer break-in period is not usually this rough...

It's official. This week is going to be 75-80F/24-26C, so I broke out some sandals for the first time this year. I alternated two pairs, didn't even wear them for a full day of walking, and I've still got blisters! And since I had foot surgery earlier this year, they're rubbing in new and different places than usual too. Tomorrow I may be back to my Converse despite the heat. :(

I'm sure this happens to others, but my husband doesn't appreciate my pain, so I thought the ladies here might! Any advice for avoiding this in the future?
