Kerry, it may not be an issue depending on your body type, but I have given up on Garnet Hill's knitwear. I like slouchy/boxy sweaters, but GH's *never* look right on me. I order the smallest size (I'm 5'4" with a 32" bust) and they fit me like giant sacks and never drape the way they look like they do in the photos. If you're attracted to that shape, check Everlane -- their cashmere crop v-neck really nails this style (looks like they haven't restocked it for fall yet, but they have a couple colours on clearance). Everlane's cashmere isn't amazing quality, but neither is GH's, and Everlane's price point is reasonable. Uniqlo might be worth a look, but their 100% cashmere generally only comes in very classic shapes, and it is definitely pilly. I like the British company Pure Collection for cashmere; they specialize in knitwear and have a wide range of cuts and colours. But even theirs has been pill-prone in the last couple years. If I buy any more cashmere, it will be vintage.

Macy’s has cashmere sweaters on sale right now. I have a couple of them and they’re nice for the price. Plus they come in 15 colors.

I like the blue and it will go with everything, but camel is classic and goes with everything too. Love the cut of that sweater!

I third the arctic heather. Current reviews, even by color, are key as cashmere from the same place can be wildly different.

If you’ve got camel trousers/skirts, or chocolate or charcoal ones, I’d get the arctic heather. The camel would look good with charcoal bottoms also.
BTW, I’d recommend calling or e-chatting with a sales rep to get the garment measures of the sizes you’d like instead of their Fit Predictor app. I used it last year and it was totally off. I ordered 2 relaxed shape sweaters and they both were skin tigh, with no room for layers under. Nice soft quality, though.

Try uniqlo. They have cashmere crews and turtles for a reasonable price ($79-89) and broad range of colors. If their extra fine merino crews are an indication, these will also wear like iron and feel cushy. Worth a try.

Garnet hill sweaters are slouchier and may be thinner than uniqlo. Different look. Camel, rosewood and arctic heathers are particularly attractive

Camel works really well with blues. If you've got the other colors already represented in your current sweaters, maybe try the camel?

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to pull the trigger on a cashmere sweater for fall/winter. I’ve never owned 100% cashmere. This one from Garnet Hill seems to be a winner. I like the slouchy look of it and the reviews give the cashmere a good rating.

I had considered cashmere from Boden but Angie mentioned it was
scratchy and the v-neck looked a bit conservative.

Which of these colours would you choose? I had thought the grey - I wear a lot of cool colours, mostly blues but my hair some golden highlights in it and the camel colours seem to be trending ...
