Even though she clearly thinks what she wore was fine, I also know that it can be downright astonishing what some people consider appropriate for work. My ex used to work in an office with a young woman who was extremely voluptuous front and back and came to work in clubwear-style clothing skintight and skimpy. HR spoke to her repeatedly and she honestly couldn't see why her outfits weren't okay in the office. I'm sure she would have sounded exactly like this woman if she had been fired for inappropriate attire.

Based on the story I think it sounds ridiculous, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's more going on. Maybe she was fired for saying things like "I didn't get no answer".

These are all obviously posed shots (correct me if I'm wrong--I'm watching this at work without sound). This is a strictly one sided story, and we really don't know what went on off camera or what the specifics were.

What is and isn't appropriate is industry specific. I don't know how people are meant to dress in the banking industry, but it is obviously ultra conservative. No sex appeal allowed! Is it ridiculous, stupid, sexist, and unnecessary? Yes. And if she is telling the complete truth, I salute this woman for challenging her environmental norm. Pretty ladies exist and adult men need to grow up and learn how to deal with it professionally.

If she isn't being totally honest, though, then I feel sorry for those men who are being unfairly accused.

Wow! I agree, there must be something else going on. If she was truly wearing what was shown in the clips, the story doesn't make much sense, except that she is indeed what I think is considered naturally sexy by most standards. Her clothing didn't seem revealing, just well tailored, and she has a nice figure, so yes, she looks attractive.

Hmm...it'll be interesting to hear how this ends up.

I saw a couple other clips of her that showed photos of what she would wear in the office and they were all incredibly appropriate. I agree there must be another side to the story...at least I hope for Citibank's sake there is.

Something doesn't seem right about this story. Not to mention, this "report" contains only one source - the alleged victim.

Call me cynical, but there's got to more to this.

Red Flags for me! Queenie's "two sides to every story" was my thought exactly when I watched it. A huge part of being sexy is a person's carriage and body language, which can come across even stronger when dressed in form fitting clothes and be completely inappropriate. So there may be more to this than can ever be "proven".

I love what she is wearing but working in finance I know that the top would be considered too form fitting for my office. Banking is ultra conservative and I imagine a lot of steps and negotiation about dress would have to take place before someone is sacked over their appearance.

Michelle- the outfit she was wearing on the news story was quite lovely. An almost knee length pencil skirt, cami type shirt, beautiful jacket and heels. Absolutely nothing too sexy or revealing IMO. They said "this is a typical outfit" so not necessarily the outfit or outfits in question. Maybe I'm clueless but I am having a hard time swallowing the idea that in a corporation like Citibank a woman would be fired for this. I think there has to be more to the story than what we heard in this 3 minute segment.

Michelle, she's wearing a fitted knee length pencil skirt, a knit top of sorts topped with a lovely jacket. And lovely pointy toe heels. I'd wear that very outfit to work, personally.
My boss is a 63 year old male, and he actually mentioned this story to me this morning. He saw the clip before I did and said he saw nothing inappropriate about her appearance at all.
But, like someone mentioned above, there are two sides to everything and I can't really give an opinion without knowing the facts.
But based on the clip, I do not think she was dressed inappropriately. I wore that same thing when dealing with customers at the bank I worked for - with sheer hosiery of course. I hated that dress code rule.

Oh, I remember that airline fiasco- didn't Angie blog about it at the time?

Obviously, we don't know all sides to this story, but from what that video shows, the woman was 100% appropriate. It seems to me that maybe her bosses were distracted by her (as opposed to the other women in the office) because she's just so damn gorgeous! Seriously, she should be on TV and not in banking. (Actually, maybe she wants to be and that's what this is about? LOL, no that's too cynical of me!)

Welcome to the super conservative world of banking. I personally know a teller at my local bank who was sent back to the hairdresses by her employer because her highlights were noticable. I'm not kidding all personality has to be removed, no body art, no obvious make up (including no nail varnish) and certainly not a trace of sexiness. Instead it is polyester blouses and below the knee straight pencil skirts all the way.

I remember that Southwest Airlines incident. I think in that particular incident, she altered her outfit slightly (pulled the skirt down, so it wasn't so short) when she went on TV to talk about it, but I think it turned out that the issue was really that she wasn't wearing underwear under a really short skirt and wasn't "sitting like a lady".
