Hi! Exciting about prom! It's so late in the year I didn't know there were still proms happening.

The first question for me is what do other girls wear to prom (to get an idea of the vibe in your area) and what kind of budget you have for dress, shoes and accessories (and maybe hair if that's a thing for you.)

Can you go to a department store or someplace like Camille La Vie to try on a few different styles. If you take photos we can weigh in, especially if you mark the post urgent.

Well, those dresses were the only ones that could remotely fit me at the moment. I kinda grew out my others.

The dresses proposed wouldn't show any more or less of your arms than the original two dresses you showed, so I am not sure how the veining in your arms would be any more relevant with a different dress. I agree that the original dresses are far too casual for prom, and I like the dresses listed by cobaltblue.

Woah, nice dresses! I love the idea of showing off my shoulders. Do you guys think the veins on my forearm to bicep would be obvious because, my genetics make it like i've got cables running through my arm, even without flexing my arm.

I think Maneera's #4 option would be amazing on you. Youthful, body con, but not a bit slutty looking.

I was reading an article lately and found that dresses with cut-outs, two piece dress and one-shoulder prom dresses are really trending.

You have a fabulous body. You could wear ANYTHING and look gorgeous! But I do like the idea of showing off your super-fit arms and string shoulder-line in a halter-neck style.

Here are some ideas

Well, you have an amazing figure that shows a ton of dedication to fitness. Really beautiful! I had fun looking at the prom pictures of friends' kids this year -- it's been a few years since my daughters went to prom. And I would just say two things to you. First, don't dress too old. Dress like the beautiful young woman you are. Second, dress in something that makes you feel fabulous. Whatever works best for you -- might be long, might be short, who knows? But go with what's best for you.

I did find a great site -- lulus.com -- that has a ton of dresses in a range of prices. There are some very pretty traditional prom dresses and also some great looking cocktail-type dresses that you would probably wear again, which may be something to think about.

Here are a few that personally I really liked, but again, it's all about you. However, I do second the idea of showing off your beautiful shoulders and tiny waist, and also the idea of avoiding black. Navy is a gorgeous alternative.

Good luck, and show us what you choose!

Love #2. The first is also nice, but super casual. But yes, prom is a moment for big frou, lol. I like cobalts' idea of a halter neckline formal dress.

I think I'd dress you in a color rather than black because your skin tone makes me think it'd be easy to find something that would look really beautiful.
If you want to balance your shoulders and hips, rather than choosing shoulder emphasizing styles like high necks or halters, you could try a low v neck or wider shoulder straps?
Or something high in front but that shows a lot of your back?
Your tiny waist is amazing so I'd show that off too.
Maybe go to the store and try on different dresses? Things you wouldn't normally consider?

I do agree that the halter style is perfect for highlighting your strong arms, but you definitely need a gown in a dressier fabric. I'm on my phone so can't easily post suggestions for you, but these pictures might give you some ideas. Try searching for "halter prom dress."

For a dressy event like this, it's probably a good idea to choose one body part to highlight. (If your dress is short, show less cleavage; if more exposed on top, choose a longer gown.)

Have a great time, and have fun shopping!

Jessie, amazing that you are fit and body-proud! I also agree that you could go dressier, though you know best what the style is at your school. What about something like the link below. Still body con but the longer length gives more of a cocktail dress look. There are also a lot of nice long dresses with cutouts or cropped tops that combine a more formal look with body con style. Have fun looking!

When I went to prom (11 years ago), we wore much fancier dresses. Formal dresses. Is prom more casual now? These dresses look nice on you but seem really casual.

So I've been wondering which dress I'd use at our prom at June 22. And as you can tell my body type is kinda unusual, my prom date loves it not sure about the others though haha. I'm 17 years old 5'8 134.5lbs. And I do track and crossfit, was wondering do these dresses flatter my body type or the other way around. If you guys have ideas for a dress that would be amazing! Thank you and cheers!
