Why do you only wear blazers a couple times a month? Do you only have a couple occasions for which blazers would be appropriate (hard to believe for a prof in New England) or do the ones you have only come around in rotation that often and you don’t feel inclined to reach for them any more frequently? Of course, it will displace something else if you get it. I love the fit, colour and rich texture. I can see why you like the Boden blazer. It looks very versatile to me, able to be worn with white jeans and all shades of denim. However, it really depends upon the window in which you can wear a blazer, or if you are happy to layer it under a coat during winter. </p> <p>As for stealing wears, I think it is more a question of how different it is from your other blazers as to whether it will steal wears. The big thing I have to puzzle out with the blazer is what else I would wear with it (tops, bottoms, shoes), and how often I would be able to wear it. I ordered a US4 and US2 to compare, but Boden sent a 4 and a 6. The 4 was definitely too large, so I sent both back and waited patiently for the 2 to arrive. </p> <p>Verdict: they're great! Nice substantial fabric, very structured, trouser styling, not jeans, so you could dress them up -- very lux and velvety. They are a wider wale, more my preference -- for the menswear vibe. Never been a fan of skinny-wale, stretchy, jeggings-style cords. Colour is deep and inky with a nice sheen to it. I cleverly wore a black top so it's hard to see the waist in the pic, no matter how I lighten it. They are perfectly tailored, no waist alteration needed, and a higher rise than my Boden Richmonds. Honestly, they are a better fit all round than my Richmonds, between the higher rise and the straighter leg. The 26" inseam is a sweet spot for me. They come nicely pressed with a turned-up cuff; it is possible to unroll the cuff and then they are about 28", a more akward inseam for me. </p> <p>I am choosing Boden size 2 more consistently these days, when I used to opt for a 4, and I don't think I've shrunk much. I know Angie had noticed a slight upward shift in Boden's sizing, and I am inclined to agree. Quality is still phenomenal! Now do I add the matching cord blazer in the adorable star print?? </p>
