Angie - I'm always happy for recommendations, especially from one who understands only low heels are a possibility. BTW the Pikolinos Royal in the 8 are just right. Slightly longer but not too long, width is perfect. Very comfy. I did order the San Sebastia, which was not on sale, but they only had the size 8. Cute as anything. I like the stacked heel. Although it's 2" there is a 1/2" platform so 1.5 true heel, lots of cushion, but too big. Pikolinos website has this bootie with black suede in the back and leather front. I like the combo of heel, accent stitching and I have a thing for the slashed leather accent and silver detail. I used to have the Jeffrey Campbell Isley slashed booties which I wore in to the ground and I still have the peeptoe sandal/booties. Especially with such a monochromatic minimalist look, I count on footwear or belts to do the heavy lifting on interest. So I'm waiting for the 37's and we will see if they work out. But I thought they were very fun.

Angie - interesting how things are really fabricated all over the world. Glad you have so many brands that work well. We ladies with fussy feet.... and yes brands work right until they don't!! I have a second pikolino coming today so I'll report in it it's good.
April - IKR it's not an exact transfer. 37 is usually 6.5 but I usually find the 38 list as a 7 or an 8 depending too big. It's hard to know unless you know the brand and even then.....like now, two different models different fits..
suntiger - the VB gia in blue. I missed it the first time....sobs. Got it in black but really wanted the blue. I've stalked it for ages ebay and poshmark. It runs small so I needed the 6. I'm usually a solid 4 in VB but they do cut some jackets bigger and some smaller. I was so lucky to find this in pristine condition. But too heavy for summer. I wanted it for my SW 50/50 blue boots I saw the combo on rent the runway and have been obsessed ever since...can't wait for fall!!

Gryffin, one annoying thing that many retailers do is equate the Euro size with a similar number in American sizing. So they say a 37 is a 7, a 38 is an 8, etc. In fact, a 37 Euro is a 6.5 American, a 37.5 Euro is a 7 American, and so on.

So, you should be in reasonable territory with a 38, which is a 7.5 American.

Gryffin, YES! Pikolinos are Spanish and a very good shoe. So glad you've found another go-to brand :)

I'm doing really well with shoes made in Italy, Brazil and Austria at the moment - and ECCO, although a Danish company, the shoes are made in Slovakia. I do really well with their classic sneakers. I have also done very well with shoes made in China that are very kind to my feet!

I did really well with Cole Haan last year - but not this year. None of the styles I tried worked. There is always next year

Angie - I just can't wear heels any more. I like a platform wedge to add height and an illusion of a heel too. Pikolinos have some really comfy booties. Thanks so much for the rec's I had not worn that brand before and now I try and add one new bootie a year.
Lisa - I created a small navy capsule because my son is attending Penn State and it's navy, gray, white or bust. They don't know from black. So I started with the Navy VB matteo blazer and a navy theory Gabe blazer. Then I added the TB monogram navy belt with gold buckle and TB reversable patent navy belt with silver buckle. I bought VB scuba pants and Vince strapping pants in navy and I began adding blazers that combine blue and black. Also the JCrew jackie shell in navy and a navy body suit. I wear the blue booties with the jeans, shell, blazer and belt in various combos. I had no idea what tops to wear when I'm in a navy "suit" like situation. White is too traditional and bright, the right gray is hard to find, and I've had no success with a blue other than navy but I keep looking. I'd like a wear of blues in a cotton sweater shell but I can't find it. I prefer knits to wovens. I do have several scarfs I could wear but I don't want anything dangling at work. With the VB blue gia I'd wear leggings and my blue SW 50/50 OTK. I'd really love a pair of navy blue ribbed jodphur style zip front pants with belt loops but that's a hewi. But I do a lot monochromatic unless the jacket has pattern. I'm stil looking for the perfect tops. I returned the RW boots, wrong fit for my feet. The pikolinos photo looks navy but they are black. I'm still looking for waterproof/resistant boots....sigh. I added photos here and above. The VB ada blazer is black/white/pale blue (it shows gray in the photo but it's blue - surprise to me but it worked).
Bijou - I get that because of the clothes, but the clothes don't make up for the LONG LONG LONG winters!!! Enjoy the warmth!!
kkards - thank you. I will almost always choose the "huge" oversized coat, but in this case the small had so much fabric on the back and I thought it made me look "hippy" so even I was willing to rein in a bit of volume. But I'm glad to get the look at a really good price point. Now I can see if I like it without an enormous investment.

YAY! Gryffin, you had a smashing NAS! Thanks for all the detailed reviews :)

Very glad you ordered the smaller size in the coat. ALWAYS good to compare sizes and do the layering test. It cannot hurt, and pays off to do things thoroughly.

Fab you've found another potential Pikolinos winner! Fingers crossed they work.

Suz - Thank you. Of course we all love outerwear! Congrats on your new pea coat!! I got really lucky this year. No stalking. Just able to get what I wanted. Im so glad you were able to get such a nice coat at such a great price. Enjoy it!!
Merwoman - yup we outwear girls are now chomping at the bit for fall!! Although I almost melted today, despite the a/c, with coat and blazer try ons! Plus it’s in the high 90’s and I actually had an impulse to want to wear the aquatalia boots which is totally insane. But the good news I’m really looking forward to wearing knee and OTK boots this fall which I’ve been off since the pandemic. Maybe that’s a sign of hope of good things to come!!

So I tried the Pikolinos royal bootie in the 37/7. As per the reviews this style runs narrow and short compared to the vicar studded bootie and the vicar combat that I bought in black last NAS and a couple of years before. They both fit perfectly. So I am awaiting the royal in size 8, I'm hoping it's not too big. My other two pikolinos get hard wear because of the low heel and total comfort so I would not be unhappy with a more refined bootie to split wears for work.

I also tried on the aqualia cambria in a size 7 my usual, although I usually size up 1/2 size in this brand. Surprisingly this had a much narrower shaft. There is room for a jean but it's a lot more fitted from ankle to knee. With a 3/4 orthotic the forefoot was slightly snug but the length was fine. If you don't wear orthotics you definitely want your normal size. I have a boot stretcher and spray so I'm sticking with the 7 but going to do a very small stretch on the width on the left and they should be perfect.

The Halogen trench arrived in XS and this is the correct size. I did try my heaviest blazers underneath, not that I would wear that with such a light coat and they fit well in the arms and body. With any kind of normal layering the xs is less overwhelming and even loving oversized, I think the small looked sloppy rather than chic in a comparison.
