They seem very resilient, like ponte, and don't feel like they will stretch out or bag although they do "conform". I got the bigger of my size range based on reviews - my other plaid Kuts are a 4 but also a more sateen material. These are long on me, and I'm getting them hemmed. I suspect they will be ankle length on you. I could wear a S but wanted no constriction. I tend to do leggings as "pants" with coverage via tunics, rather than leggings as tights with dresses, which I think is a more artsy Eileen Fisher/j. Jill kind of look. But these would work with dresses too. They are a little long on me but I like scrunch and I'm short!
