I would love to be at the filling in the gap stage, my wardrobe is more like a piece of lace with more gaps than fabric *sigh*.

The next items on my wish list are a Topshop city shirt
http://www.topshop.com/webapp/.....;langId=-1

Mango pencil skirt
http://www.asos.com/Mango/Mang.....uery=mango skirt&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=20&sort=-1&clr=Multi

and denim leggings. If I look for more than three pieces at a time I feel very overwhelmed.

Good luck to everyone filling their gaps.

More fall and winter weight dresses for me too! Angie (and Laura)'s recent posts really inspired me. I only had one before, but just bought 2 from AT. Both I'm not sure. Already posted questions on one of them. Will try to take picture of the other one soon. Hopefully I can figure the dress thing out with the help of this forum.

More winter weight dresses, a couple of heavier cardigans and boots! I only have one pair, and the lack of winter footwear is SUCH a huge gap in my wardrobe right now.

I still need to switch out my warm weather stuff for the cool weather stuff. It's on the list of things to do today. But I think I already know what I need to fill in the blanks.

* I'm in desperate need of warm layering tops that are long enough for pants. I especially want a grey top with a bit of fun detailing at the neck.
* A sweater or two that's not bulky.
* Dresses - I'm looking for voluminous dresses at the moment.

I think that should about cover things. I don't need but would like to find a knee-length wool coat in a rich, fun color.

I managed to find jeans and patterned hose last night. I have lots of things that I'd like, but now what I really need is to take my wool pants to be dry cleaned and hemmed and have my ankle boots stretched so that I can actually wear them (oh and for the sweater that I want to go on sale!).

- opaque black tights and perhaps a patterned pair as well
- few more graphic tees to layer under cardigans and jackets
- black straight leg jeans

Other than that I actually feel pretty set right now for once!

More dresses. Always want more Winter dresses!

I've replaced my *needs* already: chestnut slouch boots and new long puffer.

Sleek non-itchy polo necks are always welcome in my wardrobe too. Would still like to get a pair of slouchy 80's pants but they are all too short and it's driving me up the wall.

And I'm thinking about the short cuffed bootie to wear with skirts, stirrups and cigarette pants. But comfort continues to be a TALL order.

On the "need to have" list:

- V-neck cardigans (not a drapey one). I recently ordered from Target's new petite line and if they fit well, I'll be all set in that department. Cardigans are critical to my wardrobe once it gets too cold to go out in just a blazer. It's one of those basic items I figure needs to be refreshed every year.

- micro fishnets

- gold statement necklace... I think this will pull a lot of looks together, with my Star Lings

On the "nice to have" list:

- The elusive perfect trench
- New boots and/or booties... I'm not sure what I want in this department, but I'll know it when I see it
- Pumps ... again, not sure what kind...

Wow - started reading Kristin's & thought it was mine for a minute (Dajavu!) :)

I'm sitting pretty good actually - due to much thrift & consignment shopping!

My list looks like:
- mustard fitted l/s t
- black & charteruse green fitted turtlenecks
- wine colored scarf
- black polka dot hose
- brown/cognac vest
- cream vest (I'm loving vests lately!!)

Now to decide on which color BR wool coat to keep from my 40% off coupons. I got the camel/cream color (fell in love with it) & then ordered the taupey brown when it came out on-line. Decisions decisions!! All my scarves go with the cream one & it's my true love but I'm thinking practical & wondering if the brown will wear better. Leaning towards the cream/camel right now though. Have a great 2nd set of eye's coming soon to give me a 2nd opinion also. How do you get spills out of a cream/camel colored wool coat should that happen - cleaners perhaps? Maybe I'll post another thread...

I haven't really looked at my cold-weather things much yet but know I want to find some long tops, tunics, or short dresses for cold-weather pairing with straight jeans or leggings for that MOTG look with boots.
When Angie asked us about frocks recently I thought a lot about why I don't have more. The fit problem seems to be that I'm definitely a petite on top (except for sleeve length) and not a petite below the waist. Petites are too short. They could work as a tunic but petite sizes seem to be limited in styles. Knits seem to emphasize that I haven't much bust. I have one Calvin Klein sweater dress for winter. That's it so far.

velvetychocolate - I'm in the same boat! I'm starting all over, fashion-wise. I'm tired of my "generic" style.

* Jeans - not a fan of skinnies, but will try my hand at making some dark wash/black jeans in a straight leg cut

* Inside jackets - I am desperate for a tailored, chic alternative to my slobby polartecs - which are the first thing I reach for when the temperature drops

* Blouses/graphic t's - Don't have any - only a couple of turtlenecks

* Knee length puffer - Have my eye on one...will report back soon.

* Statement bag - not sure when I want to commit on this - still carrying a washable diaper bag right now.

The key for me when I joined this forum was to figure out what the priorities were and start there...I've sorted out specs and watch, love my cut...now need to sort out the wardrobe staples.

My gaps are pretty broad, sort of starting all over with clothes..

*jeans - need some for flats, some for heels - a really good pair of boot cuts and some skinnies would be nice

*coat - I am currently coat-less...I've bought a new coat every year, and the one from last year is too big - had a major snowstorm here the last few days, so I'm wearing the 'too big' coat anyway, but I feel like a dork.

*dress pants - not sure what I want/need, but I don't have any

*I'd like a day dress and an evening dress - not 'formal' for evening, but something dressier than the daytime one. I had my eye on that Adrianna Papell one that a lot of people got at the NAS (this would have been a good all purpose dress!), but alas - I waited too long and it's sold out. That'll teach me not to hesitate too long.

*blouses/shirts - don't have any

*blazers/jackets - don't have any

The list is too long. I'll stop there

Oh man, where to start...
-a pair of dark skinny jeans that aren't too loose or too tight. I already have two pairs, but none are just quite right.
-a pair of yellow flats.
-a pari of casual black knee-high boots.
-a casual, long-sleeved tunic/short dress to wear with leggings or skinny jeans.

Hey, that's a pretty specific list!

The gap in mine is so big I am at risk of falling in!! I need so many things, its hard to prioritise really! I suppose nice flat shoes for casual wear should be up there as well as a black button down shirt and possibly another pair of jeans. That said I would love to find the perfect day time dress, but I am stuck with the non seasonal changes here!

Now that the weather here is starting to change, I am having a chance to see the gaps in my winter wardrobe. I've been on a shopping ban, but I'm calling it done a few days early so that I can get a better deal on some basics to fill in those gaps. I'm in desperate need of a white button down shirt (already ordered), jeans for flats (going today), and a new coat (still looking). I've also got my eye on a wool cardi.
What gaps do you have in your wardrobe?
