I have two pairs and they wear like Teflon in rain, slush, etc.</p> <p>If you were open to a mid calf, Hunters are also handy because you can get all the different liners/boot socks, which makes them very versatile for different temperatures .. I have fleece and puffy liners to change out or remove altogether to suit the temp. I find my rain boots too hot, not breathable, and not supportive enough, so only wear when outside walking on rainy days. I drive and my car is parked outside our house and outside the office, also in your city. I find sturdy ankle boots with a small heel weather-resistant enough for this purpose. I am never sure how comfy gumboots would be to walk very far in though.
