That's probably before your time. I remember being very small and gazing up at these women stripped down to their undies to try on...maybe it was wedding dresses?? (NO dressing rooms!) Ha ha..the end of an era indeed. I think we ate at Schraft's after shopping, or Baileys for hot fudge sundaes! I read in one of the bankruptcy articles that customers had been complaining about the "ugly" selection since Syms took it over in 2010. Wonder why they didn't retain the original Filene's buyers? We don't have FB here in Canada - and I've never shopped in one in the US - but I've seen it on "What Not To Wear" (the makeover shopping bits). I understand it had all designer names &amp; the infamous Bridal Gown run!
