Thanks for explaining Gigi. I haven't seen sock size gradations like that in Australia.
I popped into Kmart today but the socks Lucy mentioned weren't there. I could see the rack for them but it was empty, as in fact many of the sock racks were. Anyway I have enough to go on for the moment and will check back periodically.

I mean that they had various sizes of the same style: size 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, etc. So you don't have to make do with basically a one-size-fits-all sock. I can't remember the exact size categories since it has been a while.

I think that I got quite a few pairs of socks at H&M that were sized. I also like Smartwool (sized), but they can be expensive.

Hi star thanks.there's overlap with kids and women's shoes and clothes here too.hopefully not in socks

Pretty pear, thanks.

Lucy thanks. I really appreciated your input being in the same country and having similar feet.in fact I have just looked back on your shoe reccomendations for me. I am probably going past a kmart this week so ill check out your suggestion.
Thanks Khards. I wear hose quite a bit in winter but i find it hard to wear shoes without socks.
Apologies for bad typing.i am on my phone and the keyboard has just changed as well.

I also have small feet (US size 6, Italian 36)...and yes, I’ve tried kids socks, it was better, but not perfect. Mostly i look for high quality sized socks, they are expensive, but IMO for it because they generally fit better and wash up better, But honestly, if i can, i just skip socks altogether to avoid this issue.

I totally have this problem! I take a size 37 or a 6.5 with a narrow heel.

I find socks spill over a the back - I move between Bonds low cut and kid's Bonds . So I have a mix.

I also tried these from Kmart recently - I don't usually go there, but had to grab something for the dog. And they might be the best I have found, though they are not warm. This is fine for me in Brissie, but you might need something a bit more substantial.
https://www.kmart.com.au/produ.....ks/2746340

I don’t have this problem on my size 11 U.S. feet, but I do much better in socks that are sized s, m, l - standard women’s socks generally don’t work for me, so I can see how you’d have that problem! I wear men’s socks often, though sometimes they are too big. I like Smartwool and Peds because they come in my size here. Hope you can find some kids socks that work on your petite feet.

Yes, I am a size euro 39 or 40, and sock sizes com in 35-38 and 39-42. Since I started buying the smaller size I don't ever have the ballooning problem. Give it a go with the kids' sizes, just be sure they really are smaller than the smallest womens' size as they sometimes overlap, in clothing too

I have short feet, narrow heels and many of my socks end up with the ankle part rising up over the shoe.

I have been thinking of trying out buying smaller socks. Here in Australia women's socks come in 5-8 or 9- 12. I usually wear size 6 shoes so get the former. I am probably really a 5 or 5.5.

The largest kids' size is 13-3 and. I am thinking of buying them. In fact I nearly did at the supermarket last shop until I got to the checkout where the checkout operator realised the 5 pack had had a pair ripped out of it.
Anyway, Just wondering if anyone had tried this strategy.
