I have never needed glasses before. I can shop for sunglasses no problem but this was little beyond me, so I decided to enlist the professional help of Angie.<br /> Yesterday we met at a Starbucks in downtown Seattle that happens to be across the street from Nordstrom's. I saw where all the beautiful Nordies people get their caffeine fix. My father was in town visiting so I dragged him along.<br /> I wore my black leather pants, denim shirt, blue-black ankle boots, mixed pearl and chain necklace. My father threatened to do some outrageous pattern mixing but ended up with a blue button down shirt, plaid sweater and blue jeans. Angie was wearing black jeggings, black OTK boots, a denim shirt with a short sleeved black sweater over it and a brown belt.<br /> She immediately noticed my necklace and asked if I wore it for her. We both noticed how similarly we were attired.<br /> We discussed the game plan for the morning. Angie also warned me about the pushy service in one store and the clueless service in another.<br /> After everyone got their caffeine fix we were off. It is true that she is a very fast walker. Luckily my father and I are as well. Our first stop was Ottica. Angie zoomed around the store faster than the salesperson picking out frames for me to try. We talked angles, shapes, visibility of my eyebrows, width so many factors I had not considered. We narrowed it down to a pair with a black lace pattern and a chunky tortoiseshell one. The tortoise shell one was the winner. So we snapped a few pictures of it and got the information for the frame.<br /> We briefly detoured into a shoe and clothing boutique. I might have to go back there to look at the clothes more closely.<br /> Then we were off to Market Optical. The selection wasn't vast in the styles we were looking for, but we found one killer pair. They were two tone, black and clear and chunky. The salesperson was very good asking me questions about my work such as if I have to give bad news to patients.<br /> Then we detoured into a the famous Piroskhii Piroskhii place for a quick pastry refueling.<br /> The last two optic stores were not as memorable, and we only found a distant third contender. As we walked around downtown Seattle we talked about how I can only wear certain brands of high heels.<br /> We ended in the Nordstrom shoe department were I tried not to be distracted by the new spring shoes for Miu Miu. We reviewed the photos of the frames on my iPhone and discussed the relative merits of each. In the end we decided that the black and clear ones from Market Optical were the best. All told the whirlwind morning took less than two hours.<br /> I'm very grateful that Angie was able to find me a killer pair of specs. I'll post photos next week when I pick them up. </p>
