And a fitted dress is one of my favourites- I need to be brave and just wear them casually.</p> <p>Jane- the jacket is a duck egg blue- warm grey - quite hard to pin down. I will have to think about my fall-back outfits but they usually involve Eileen Fisher pieces. My burgundy pencil and black/purple/orange/white skirts are in heavy rotation too this year. </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/ffbo-fast-fall-back-options-this-season#post-2057589 Mon, 02 Sep 2019 23:50:13 +0000 Sal 2057589@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>This winter I have have developed three FFBO that I have repeated at least four times each when I need a failsafe outfit.</p> <p>1) I found this look whilst doing my July challenge.&nbsp; I have repeated it three times since, for days where I need to be comfortable but also a little bit smart.&nbsp; I am wearing this today.&nbsp; I wore this for travelling (five hours by car) with a casual client visit on the way to see their helicopters.&nbsp; I work in aviation.&nbsp; Whilst the white sneakers are new this year, the other pieces are not.&nbsp; The red leather jacket was not an orphan but I never loved it but I do like it to smarten up a very casual look.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>2) This dress is two seasons old and super useful. I love it with the tall boots. Worn to work, for casual meals out, to an awards night. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>3) I don't have a great need for smart office attire and have been a little short this winter.&nbsp; I have worn this look for three "high profile" (for me) events -&nbsp; being on our company promotional video, representing our company at a conference, and speaking at my Mum's funeral.&nbsp; &nbsp; The black pants are starting to show some wear and I will look to replace over the next six months.&nbsp; I have worn with pumps and with black ankle boots.</p> <p></p> <p>With the first two I have started to use my new (second hand) Furla and with the third my slouchy cognac shoulder bag.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>In these three looks I feel comfortable, stylish and myself - and they are practical too for our temperate changeable climate.&nbsp; Whilst not especially bold nor elegant they are a elevated against the norms in my environment and each has something that make them feel a bit special (the red leather is very luxe, the tall suede boots are different here when 95% of people wear ankle boots, and the gold buttons on the blazer have a glitz to them).&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>We are just into spring and I want to have three outfits for spring for similar needs (<i>elevated casual, everyday work/socialising cross over, and smart work)</i>.&nbsp; I will come back to you in a couple of weeks and hopefully have them!</p> <p><b><i>What have been your FFBO this season - and why do you like them?</i></b></p> <p>(Just about to load pics) </p>
